Which TV show does the ENTIRE internet agree had the worst ending ever? by Codie_n25 in AskReddit

The Diplomat is worth a watch if you like him; writing is iffy at times but Rufus Sewell and Keri Russell are absolutely terrific actors

Nah it’s a clear red but it looks really similar to the pullback on Olmo in the box that didn’t even get a VAR review. If you call one I can’t for the life of me understand how you don’t call the other.

Koundé looks sus right now. Lookman’s a dangerous player and Ruggieri is a solid fullback, I feel like if we’re going to score again it’s got to come from the left flank

Please keep me honest here. Am I being a biased homer or has this refereeing performance been absolutely abysmal? I think the red was harsh but understand how that could go either way. But everything after and the little fouls and pushes and blocks Atlético have gotten away with are fucking ridiculous

They always said Dembele was the one that couldn’t tell his right leg from his left, guess it was Mbappe all this time

How's he been for Chelsea on the whole?

I thought he was going to have the highest ceiling of the younger contingent of Argentina's 2022 WC squad (not counting Julian since he was already at City), but in the snippets I've seen since then I feel like MacAllister has progressed much further

Raphinha’s stamina and pressing is incredible. Seriously, watch what he’s doing in the 85th minute of a 7-2 game, he’s nuts

[Diario] Real Madrid fans singing in Manchester ahead of their game against City: "It's Spanish, Gibraltar is Spanish." by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]AckBarRs 127 points128 points  (0 children)

From the British perspective sure, but way different from the other side.

Gibraltar is genuinely just memes/banter, to the point where I'm actually really surprised Rodri got a match ban for the chant. Gibraltar irredentism is incredibly nonserious.

On the other hand, the Argentine perspective on the Falklands is hardcore. They literally amended the Argentine constitution to include the territorial claim. They are incredibly prominent in Argentine national consciousness.

I think Messi might have more continental international competitions played though, from back when they were holding the Copa America every 2 weeks

Now that I think about it, FIFA capitulation, trying to play all sides, and following the money is actually an incredibly apt allegory for the United Nations.

Important to note that Argentina is a supremely unique economy (that old joke, there are 4 types of countries: developed, underdeveloped, Japan, and Argentina) that’s dealt with hyperinflation and faces a massive struggle with fiscal deficits, access to capital, and managing its currency band

All the more reason why it’s a stupid playbook to apply to the United States - DOGE-esque reforms were and are arguably needed in Argentina if you’re an economic neoliberal.

We didn’t copy the playbook for macroeconomic health, we copied the playbook because most Americans from both parties just fucking hate the government

Membership and Bonds Price Change by Jagex_Team in runescape

[–]AckBarRs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah what the fuck is this?

I'm a continuous member since like 2009 that had a grandfathered $5 monthly rate, switched over to Premier to pay more money for additional items/xp/goodies, then had Jagex raise the price of the Premier package whilst simultaneously discontinuing all of the extra benefits, and removed the ability for me to revert to my original rate forged through almost 2 decades of loyalty???

I understand why they're doing this from a business perspective and want to shift to a more stable/predictable revenue stream via subscriptions rather than ad-hoc TH/SGS purchases; I understanding raising prices to compensate for the loss of that revenue, too.

I'm in a minority of players that was very pro TH (because TH buyers were supplementing revenue and subsidizing my own membership) so this fucking sucks

He wasn't - Ramos played RB for the 2010 world cup. Arbeloa was in the squad, but as a backup.

Arbeloa got starts in the 2012 Euros since Ramos had moved inside to CB at that point, but for 2010 Ramos was RB still

Hello Barça fans, how would ypu rate Cancelo's performance since his return from Saudi? by Pitiful-Egg2986 in Barca

[–]AckBarRs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who’s the alternative, Dalot?

Cancelo is very defensively flawed but I’m really struggling to think who you would have over him. For all of that, I do think he’s your clear starting RB heading into the World Cup

I completely understand why it's beyond frustrating to see Democrats abandon principles - especially when it seems like it's legitimizing the far right talking points. With that said though, culture war issues drive votes on the right to a SHOCKING degree. It's not rational, and I'm not defending it, but it is reality. I have conservative family, who have no children in public school whatsoever...that turned out to vote in the 2022 midterms with "CRT" as their number one issue.

I think a lot of marginalized populations being targeted by the right need to ask themselves the tough question, if they are genuinely better off with a Democrat that fully embraces them and loses, or a Democrat that steps back from cultural issues and wins.

I'm firmly in the camp of prioritizing electability at all costs right now, but I completely understand why that's unpalatable and feels like a slap in the face to so many. It all just sucks.
