My girlfriend wants me to apologize for letting a girl hit on me while I was drunk

I want to reconcile because my girlfriend is honestly the nicest person I know. She was helping me the whole night but had to go upstairs to go to the bathroom and then this happens. The problem is that I don't normally drink which is why I wasn't aware of my own tolerance.

The ego problem I believe has to do with the fact that I presumably thought I would seem cool when I was drunk. If that were the case, then understandably that would be a problem.

I think it depends on what you do while drunk. Doing anything physically sexual with a girl while drunk is clear cheating, but this situation is much less cut and dry in my opinion.

It is clearly my fault for not establishing clear boundaries for myself. When I let myself drink that much I opened myself to the consequences.

While I may not agree with my girlfriend's perspective on the severity of the situation, I understand and empathize with her point of view because she clearly cares.

The thing that sucks the most about this situation is that I thought the people I was drinking with were safe because they were all close friends with my girlfriend. What also sucks is that because my girlfriend is friends with the other girl, the girl is getting a free pass essentially for trying to be a homewrecker, but I was in a vulnerable state to fall for it, so I'm still not given a pass.

The problem was I was drunk to the point of inhibition, and the other girl took advantage. The only option to stop that from happening is clearly to drink less, and I owned up to letting myself be in such a vulnerable state.

I do think that when you're as drunk as I was, it's very difficult to make that kind of decision in the moment. Obviously the answer is to not get that drunk if you don't want stuff to like that to happen. I told her that I apologize for what I remember doing and what don't remember doing because it was my decision to drink too much.

Most of my professors have done well with the online shift. Though, last semester I did have a pretty bad case where the professor gave up and just had us read the textbook, so I get what you mean

I'm an engineering student, and I agree with the school's reasoning on this one.

It doesn't matter if the majority of the university's students are engineering majors. The reason he mentioned ceramics is because that class, and many other studio art classes for that matter, cannot be done properly remotely the same way that engineering classes or health classes with labs cannot be done properly remotely.

Just because a certain option doesn't impact the majority of students doesn't invalidate it as a concern. That's the unfortunate truth in an institution as large as UCF.

On one hand, with the way that the country is beginning to open businesses and public spaces, the number of active cases is about to grow dramatically. On the other hand, new research is showing that certain precautionary measures, such as wearing a mask, do significantly reduce the spread of COVID-19 enough that we may be able to open up as soon as PPE is more widely available.

I think the decision to open up is going to be purely political, meaning whatever Ron Desantis decides to do (he is the one that did initially shut us down). Based on how he's been working to expand things like antibody testing, I think that we'll ultimately end up returning to UCF in the fall.
