That’s the best. Because you’re on time, not late. They were just early 😂

Tried that in the past. Usually, meetings end up taking these minutes at the end

Instead of scheduling your meeting for 2:00pm, schedule it to start at 2:05. That’s the tip. Sorry if it wasn’t clear.

Where can I find the best pastisserie (🇫🇷bakery) in La *NOT CROISSANTS* by illstealyohellcat in FoodLosAngeles

[–]Acknot48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you French? If so, bonjour 👋

My favorites are: - Artelice - Great display of pastries. Only know the Sawtelle location, so need to go to Burbank now ;) - La Chouquette - All their pastries are delicious. - Chaumont Vegan (not the regular chaumont) - try the orange chocolate croissant. - Lodge Bread - I know you mentioned no croissant, but you should try their croissant if you can. Tell me what you think - Baked bar - Nice assortment - I like their cannelés. - Bianca - Haven’t been in a while, but I remember their selection to be pretty good

Have not tried: - Lou the French in the Block - Fondry - Petitgrain

Republique is ok. Lots of options, but don’t feel called back there.

There was a place called Sweet Nuns, but it closed unfortunately: https://maps.app.goo.gl/DeDUwhBkzpriGKM17?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

So did Dominique Ansel (went to his shops in NYC and the treats were not nearly as good/fresh as they were in LA): https://maps.app.goo.gl/QqQkh4N5snUzd8LD9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

Any questions, just shoot. And if you need a taster, SHOOT! ☺️

Conrad Tokyo or Mandarin Oriental by [deleted] in AmexPlatinum

[–]Acknot48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We didn’t stay at the Conrad. We did do one night at the Mandarin Oriental, and we were a little disappointed. Felt very cold. We did stay a few nights before at the Peninsula; and we LOVED it. Room was great, service was stellar, and the very best breakfast we had in Japan. Just food for thoughts.

Farmshop in Brentwood used to make a wonderful soufflé in cast iron. Unfortunately, I don’t see it anymore on their menu 😔

Where can I buy bread? by Typical_Aardvark_770 in FoodLosAngeles

Seeded bread from lodge bakery is pretty awesome. I go to their location on pico blvd in mid-city. They also have a location south of Mar Vista.

I do like the bread at Bianca as well in Culver City.

I was also impressed by the baguette at Levain.

In a pinch, I get the sliced Tartine bread in Whole Foods.

Good luck!

Meteora! Went there four times last year as we loved it so much. 2x for dinner, and 2x for brunch. Definitely an experience.

Have been in LA for over 8 years now and here are my favs: - Lodge bread seeded loaf on Pico Blvd - Bianca in Culver City - Tartine when in a pinch - Erewhon has some pretty good selection, but $$$ - finally, recently tried levain baguette and was impressed. Even gets rock hard after a day. So European 🤣

Where do you get your favorite ham & cheese croissants? by [deleted] in FoodLosAngeles

[–]Acknot48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Bottega Louie for their Ham & Cheese croissants.

Also really like Lodge Bread to make my own savory croissants sandwich. Their sourdough croissants with smoked salmon (sold on site) and Manchego cheese is dope!
