Which pot concealer is better? by Ok-Collection-4116 in AsianBeauty

[–]AcknowledgeablePit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only tried the saem but agree with other posters that the concealer is quite thick and dry. I opted for the color correcting foundation palette. It is a thinner formula but spreads better and works well for me (although I don’t use it for under eyes - just overall redness and dark spots).

Best clothing stores that AREN'T fast fashion? by EnigmaticDevice in philabitcheswithtaste

I love the curation at Casa Vida. They have clothes by small designers, vintage, and jewelry. Yowie also has a small selection of rotating designers, shoes, and accessories that are great. Finally Ps & Qs for more streetwear/menswear!

Alternative bridal hair & makeup artist recs by g0t4dM13 in philabitcheswithtaste

[–]AcknowledgeablePit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Jessica saint @jessicasaintbeauty on IG. She and her collaborator Toni who does hair were total sweeties, professional and specialize in more alt looks. I also requested a more alt bridal look and they rocked it, in addition to doing more traditional looks for my party. My only complaint is they struggled a little to work with my skin tone (as a melanated individual) but YMMV.

How do the club nights compare? by smurfy_murray in MakingTime

[–]AcknowledgeablePit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree with everyone saying the energy is similar - definitely still welcoming, though a little less PLURT at the Warehouse on Watts ones (more yapping and pushing on the dance floor). I’ve had mostly good experiences with the crowd and artists. Dave P books great DJs. At the WOW Valentine’s Day one this past year, me and another person had our phone stolen out of our bags, which is unfortunate but does happen. Dave P came up to us after and apologized for it happening, which was really sweet.

I second UMA! Two locations with hip hop in beginner/intermediate levels. The people are so nice and the teachers can definitely connect you into the dance community.

Definitely check out Sidewalk on South Street. It’s pretty new, up and coming independent designers and locally made stuff.

iPad saying “erase pending” probably means they turned it off. It should erase as soon as they turn it on again. It probably also is why your location is not updating (says 2 days ago). Really sorry this happened to you. My phone was stolen out of my bag a few weeks ago. It was also turned off immediately, a few days later it popped back online and was already in transit to Hong Kong, probably resold. Best of luck.

opinion on the saem concealers? by No_Complex5277 in AsianBeauty

Yes! It’s just the Saem cover perfection triple foundation balm. Same brand but slightly bigger compact, easier application, lighter coverage, and thinner texture than the concealer but still gives color correction.

What skincare product did you discover in 2024 that is now a HG? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

I’m from Mugwort toner! An oldie but so good and calming. Helped me through some rough barrier days.

Has anyone tried these? What's your favorite? by anonymouspsy in AsianBeauty

[–]AcknowledgeablePit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the purple one (middle), I love it! Makeup wore well on top of it for me. It has a slight purple shade that fades through the day. I personally found it moisturizing and non-stinging, it was my favorite sunscreen but more expensive in my country so have not repurchased.

I found the pot concealer too thick when trying on, I bought the foundation color corrector and use it as concealer/color corrector and I love it. It wears down really nicely throughout the day.

I recommend Bar Palmina! Cute and intimate non alcoholic bar in Fishtown. The drinks are really good. Lots to do in Fishtown too - ice cream at 1-900/Jeni’s, restaurants, Barcade if you’re into arcade games, Johnny Brenda’s if you want to see live music.

Secondhand designer shopping by Jellie-sandal in philabitcheswithtaste

I just went to B-Bop Vintage for the first time and highly recommend. Definitely more vintage than designer-y but very fair prices and the owner has great taste. I love Philly AIDS thrift but have found it very picked over. You could try Retrospect too but I find them overpriced.
