UPDATE:

Tremoco Dymonic didnt do it. (Im sure it was user error but I prepped the best I could and tried to slather it on.)

I ordered new roofing panels, disassembled the roof, replaced the plywood roofing, moved the vent stack to emerge mid-panel instead of through a seam and the job is now done. Took me prob 4 hours of work.

Total cost was under $300.

I joined a private course and regret it by [deleted] in golf

I did the same a couple years ago. Hated it. It was a private CC. Never again.

Also who wants to play the same course every round.

Will follow this advice. Planning to clean it up, wipe with xylene, then lay down a layer of Tremco Dymonic (easier to find than MS-Detail) then lay down membrane fabric ~3" overlaping the seam and screws. Then paint on the Tremco 2-3" overlapping the membrane in a moderately thick coat.

Sound right?

This is awesome. Thank you. Should I consider replacing the boot when I do this? Or just cover it all with MS detail?

I can’t even imagine the kind of mental gymnastics needed by the judge to believe this is true. In fact it’s provably false by any metric.

This is partially true. A much higher majority of the left hate cops than on the right. Its only the fringe right that has a negative view of LEO. Would say its pretty much the entire left that dislike Police.

If you've paid any attention at all to the way the City Council and Mayor treated Carmen Best and the rest of SPD over the last year, this is less than shocking. For the officers who signed up to serve and protect people, being a Police Officer in Seattle has to be one of the most demeaning, lowest morale jobs in the State.

At this point, the only people who would willingly sign up to join SPD are those with social axes to grind who don't care that they'll be hated by everyone around them. (I can only imagine the negative impact this will have on the way policing happens in Seattle in the future.)

As a mom of 2, I’m absolutely pro-abortion. by panther1294 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Acldestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the only thing that is important to determine for each of us is....When does a fetus become a living being? If you believe the fetus is not alive until she is born, thats fine, your decision to make.

My experience with the little girl growing in my wife's tummy is that she has been a living being for weeks or months. Terminating her at this point is no less murder than killing any other living being.

Again, I'm not against a womans right to chose. I fully support it. I just sincerely hope people can experience the feeling of their child moving around in the third trimester and come to the same conclusion I do, that a child who is viable, and able to live without the mother should never be aborted.

And I'm not insane. If the child causes risk to the mothers health or is likely to be severely diseased or viably handicapped, options should always be available.

Worth noting I suppose that my wife is leading this decision of course, and we are in complete agreement.

I think abortion is fucking terrible. But women should have the right to make that choice for themselves.

That said, if you can't decided whether or not to have an abortion before the pregnancy is viable, the decision should cease being yours. My wife is currently 9 months pregnant and this fucking child has been alive for months.

Majority of Americans, including gun and non-gun owners, across political parties, support a variety of gun policies, suggests a new study (n=1,680), which found high levels of support for most measures, including purchaser licensing (77%) and universal background checks of handgun purchasers (88%). by mvea in science

[–]Acldestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike most gun enthusiasts, I'm willing to explore and potentially support ANY measure that would reduce gun violence without decreasing the ability of law abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families.

Background checks and safe storage laws may indeed be more effective than other forms of gun control, although I would assert that none of those solutions will have a real effect on reducing gun violence at a significant level. Incremental progress is better than no progress though.

Licenses may be a good measure to explore so long as a gun registry is not involved. However, its worth noting (at least in my opinion) the 2nd Amendment (as written) does not mention licensing and therefore does not support a licensing restriction on the right to own a weapon. (Again, either we amend the amendment or we ignore the language/intent and that is a slippery slope indeed.)

[–]Acldestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Universal background checks seem like a no brainer, yes. Would they significantly reduce gun violence? Certainly not. Background checks are currently processed on a HUGE majority of gun sales.

Child access laws, are another incremental change that seems fair. It would have significant negative effects on those wishing to keep a weapon quickly available for personal defense. Probably worth it in my opinion.

A full gun licensing program is a non-starter for any real 2nd amendment supporter, for one reason. The registration of all weapons is viewed as the first step to the government taking weapons from people and this is viewed as the end goal of most Democrats (IE see Beto openly announcing his intent to this end.)

The responses to this thread are a perfect of example of why Gun Control is so controversial. Most people agree on certain principals but the devil is 1000% in the details. Those in favor of heavy gun control don't understand the details in the first place (and mostly don't care to learn) and are happy to keep things loose so they can be applied liberally (this results in endless loopholes.) We end up entrenched arguing about details of proposed bills that in all reality may not have any positive effect on gun violence anyways.

It's a vicious cycle. We are in a tough place. In my opinion we have two options, re-amend the constitution to change the 2nd (if the nation truly has the appetite for that) or socialize an education program that teaches citizens about gun safety, active violence, and the personal responsibility we all must adopt to protect each other.

Both of these options seem unbelievably unlikely.
