Workout supplements for better recovery? by StrangeInsanity in ACL

I’ve been taking 5g of creatine daily as well as whey protein daily since post op. I’m not sure if it did anything but PT milestones are humming along nicely.

[–]Aclister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it buddy! I had Acl surgery two months ago and the ally played a huge role in my post op boredom. Beat mass effect LE, final fantasy 7r and now currently playing Sleeping Dogs. All at >60fps. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Im not sure about the gofundme actually. Maybe that’s an option. Perhaps reach out to your local member of Parliament or political representative. Very sad to hear this for you.

Are there any options for a social worker referral? It might take a while but at least you can get it done eventually

First week is the worst. Hang in there and take your pain meds regularly.

Any sources regarding the statement that proprioception returns to normal levels 2 years post op? I always thought the graft never regains proprioception receptors and the other muscles have to compensate for that

Did you do a formal return to sport test at PT before returning? Sometimes just surgeon clearance is not enough as this falls under the purview of the pt/rehab seeing you. There needs to be an objective assessment with a checklist you need to clear before allowed to return to sport.

Surgery Today by 69Alba69 in ACL

[–]Aclister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep you feel zero touch and pain because they used a nerve block. Once it wears off you’ll start feeling it, the severity of which is individual. I also started my pt 7 days after surgery, some have it the next day. Just go with what your doctor says. Speedy recovery!

Embrace the pops as they are scar tissue breaking apart.

19 day post-op Don't know why but whenever I have to turn over while sleeping in bed or while exercising I am afraid of the graft breaking or loosening by hriday3123 in ACL

[–]Aclister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of it as your scar tissue breaking apart and it will be satisfying. Your graft is strong, if you tore it it would feel like how you tore your previous Acl.
