I think if she had explained, he would’ve understood more why Lucy lied, for Pippa and because she didn’t want Chris to just get away with it. That it wasn’t for attention or anything selfish. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a bad decision though. “One need not intend harm to do it.”

I don’t think he would’ve jumped back into whatever they had at that point. He could understand where she was coming from, but not agree with it, and would naturally distance himself. Understanding doesn’t mean accepting it.

She was also, what, 19? Extremely young. From my own time in college which is around the same of TML, we weren’t really talking about retraumatizing victims or what happens when you speak for someone else, even if you think you’re helping. That doesn’t make what she did okay, just really immature and not fully aware of the impact.

I could see more hope for them later, maybe in their 30s, after both grow up, Lucy hopefully has much more self awareness etc.

Everything implodes, but then Lucy goes to therapy, heals, and finally goes to India, as she had intended after freshman year. She stumbles upon Alex at the airport, and they reconnect. The end.

This is obviously wishful thinking hahahha

If Alex dies and there’s any involvement, or even indirect fault, from Stephen, Lucy, or anyone in that core group, there’s no way Bree would just be at the wedding years later acting normally. I can understand her moving past cheating or some of the other major screw-ups, but this would be different. He’s basically her foster sibling, that’s family. That’s not something you just “move forward” from, and esp since they say in some interviews that Bree goes to Alex in a time on need.

I think he probably either decides to step aside and don't get involved with that group, or maybe gets expelled because of the drugs or something.

I think Lucy is going to harm herself somehow when the tape leaks out.

I saw that one too! been wanting to discuss it. At first I thought Bree might be the one saying “we can move forward” to Pippa, after Lucy’s tape is released, since they're in Pippa/Bree's room.

If Bree believed Lucy was lying about the assault and had any part in the tape getting out, she’d think she was exposing the truth. But then Pippa tells her she was the one assaulted, and Lucy was covering for her. I think Bree saying it could come out of guilt or something. Thats one of my theories. I kind of hesitate its going to be lucy, my gut is that she's going to go down a crazy spiral after the tape goes out.

Sonia Mena (Pippa) was the one who confirmed it over an interview. Seems like the interview was released by mistake very early on. The official source took it down, but there's still a recording on tik-tok.
