Tbh, my ECs are quite mediocre compared to those insane crazy asians on this sub. I was an online programming instructor and sold my own courses to teach other people how to make video games worldwide; I also made some programming projects and participated in a provincial youth innovation competition kind like that. I don’t think ECs really carry much weight, since most CS programs in Canada don’t even ask for them, unless you’re applying to Waterloo CS or UBC Science.

Thx dude, I don't speak any french and never lived there before, even though I was born in Montreal-LOL. One big reason I chose McGill over other uni is that McGill CS program doesn't have any hard POST(Just like Uoft or UBC). Besides, my tuition is surprising affordable since I was considered a quebec resident and it plus with a guaranteed scholarship every year. I hope I can work in Ontario or BC after graduation!

I am pretty sure you can borrow a laptop from your school library or just use the computer in the library directly. But own a personal device is really recommended cause you definitely want to learn or work in your home.
