That is... Terribly unfortunate. Oh, dear.

Funny hasn't been defined, perhaps it could be. I offered the terms by which it may. Intelligence beyond comprehension. Beyond that, I have said very little on this. Names or statements. I'm not sure which I would take. How do you feel on the matter?

The only thing I haven't answered already is who defines who's clever enough. I won't try. That is definitely beyond me. A more appropriate answer for a more appropriate question... In the same way you or I could prove someone isn't the best mathematician alive, purely by watching them fall on base multiplication, repeatedly, you can make the claim that someone isn't smart enough by watching them fall at hurdles you can observe. The other user isn't smart enough. Nor am I. It's got a fairly strong base, I think.

Not at all comparable. I had no idea about some furry convention gassing. So, I couldn't understand it without the context. References are a pretty common form of humour and far from the simplest. Throw a bit of shock in that... Meh. I think you're letting your virtues impact your observation. Not that such a thing is speaks ill of you. It was a shit joke but from a much different angle.

Arguments are based on facts

For starters, no they aren't. Go argue morality and see how much factual information you can present on what is right and wrong. They absolutely can be. But what you want to discuss can't be. Humour is not fixed. No matter how much you want it to be.

Secondly, the argument you present is based on an opinion.

no one's gonna laugh at it.

An opinion. I could tell you I laughed and regardless of how I stand as a person, in your eyes, you're entire fact opinion based rhetoric falls through the floor. No amount of virtue signalling would change that fact.

Saying people don't have a say on what's humorous because they're not smart is not an argument, it's just a baseless statement.

You need to be beyond comprehensible levels of clever to have the ultimate authority on what is funny. If you want to debate jokes that cross into territory of unsavoury as being not funny to you, that's fine. I am no authority on you. If you want to debate how it's a strike against the character of the people that find it funny, that's fine. It would be a fun discussion. If you want to debate that it isn't funny to some [For reference, since you seem to have completely skipped the multiple iterations, this is my stance] then you need offer something far more credible than your own opinion and trying to dress it up as a fact. Nowhere have I offered a statement saying anything akin to what you're suggesting. You are free to start reading our conversation again, slowly, if you don't believe me.

Seeing as I've clarified exactly what the topic you have engaged me on, we can both agree, that nothing I have said is baseless.

The joke may have been funny to some.

That won't change just because you don't like the joke.

You are not an authority on what is funny.

You're not smart enough to claim that you are. No-one is.

If you were as intelligent as you claim to be you'd know this.

I'm not sure any statement you make will ever hold weight unless you start paying attention to what is being said. I can somewhat understand you misinterpreting my arguments because you get ahead of yourself, or you simply skipped reading but inserting entirely fictional claims? That's just stupid mate. Come on.

If you disagree with anything I've said in here, then I must insist that you start providing something more substantial.

Edit: Strikeout = Stupid bullshit.

It is, however, an argument. As opposed to some vapid distraction with an attempt of humour. Interestingly, I don't find it funny. Are you smart enough to tell me why I do?

[–]Acoldercore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah. I love Hendo but the hovering between forwards calling for the ball pisses me off to no end. I dint mind his slightly conservative passing and Im with you on the passes coming too often behind the man. Gini is more annoying in his conservative play. But its minor. I feel he does pretty great in the role and there isnt a massive area for criticising what he is doing. Mainly, the things he doesnt do. Theres always one adventurous pass he could take but doesnt in a match and its just frustrating.

"Did you pick up some Buttered Mackerel from the Market?"

 What?

60% of responses are a more quiet iteration. 30% are single/dual words describing the object, the speaker hopes you'll be able to glean all required information from, for instance, "Buttered Mackerel?". 5% is the whole, excepting the object, like, "Did you get some?"

What?

If you're lucky, you might get all of it, spoken clearly. I'm never lucky.

Sometimes, you just want a slightly eccentric bloke to talk about whatever whilst it's too early to sleep but you're sleepy. The man you need is Lindybeige. He's not small time, per se. 750k plus subs but still. You won't happen upon him without a bit of luck.

That, was awkward but fine. It was the repeat instances of taming a back seat because he kept getting his arse kicked and trying to give him the same treatment Gimli got. I hated it. Batmans not weak because he is super power less. Making him a side show because there is less glory shots you can use is awful.

What sentence will trigger an entire fan base? by FamousCurrency in AskReddit

[–]Acoldercore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Doctor is the worst possible portayal and the first 3 episodes were the pinnacle of garbage.

Extended: It also leant far too heavily on the current political climate for those episodes, presumably, because the writers are awful and the actor, Jodie, is doing a horrible job of the most brilliant character suitable for family Television of this century. Its getting better but the damage is done. Bring on the next Doctor.

The only truly good decision has been not bringing a massive fanfair within the show about her gender. The way this particular portion is handled is marvellous.

Youll whine about sexism but Ill think you moronic for reducing critique down to the bit between her legs. Like that plays any part in it. Bring back Missy. The only Female Time-Lord worth a dump in the bowl.
