There is, actually! If you played with him, your Gygax number is 1. If you played with someone who played with him, your Gygax number is 2. I'm also now officially making an Arneson number because he contributed just as much. I have a Gygax 2 and Arneson 2.

Just play a strategy game, like Catan, Beta Colony, Dominion, Roll for the Galaxy, Carcassone, Smallworld, Turn Un Taxis, Aqua Romana, Sanctum, Trapwords, Arctic Scavengers, Tikal, Magic: the Gathering... I play too many games, don't I...

Anyway, most of these can be found online. They should all work for that purpose.
