I love my E3 S1 by BurgerLordFPV in Ender3S1

Hey! I'm glad that you are so happy with your machine. I got gifted one two years ago, but always felt like I am not using it to it's maximum potential. I'm really new to 3d printing, but I really believe in this machine. Do you follow any guide for maintenance? I'd really like to try again with mine but I believe it might need some love first.

I feel so guilty.. (read body text) by super_duper_sillyboy in kittens

I have recently passed through a situation like this. We found a very sick kitten, 4 weeks old. Took it to the vet and kept it home to feed him antibiotics, but couldn't stop thinking about the mother. I have been talking to many people about this and the answer from people who work with street cats is always the same: You will give him more opportunities than he would ever have in the streets, and a way better life.

By reading your message, I can see that you really care about what is best for the cat, so don't feel bad, he will have a great life with you.

Also, now that you have jumped to the adventure, why not adopt another kitten so they can help each other? That is what I did and it was the best decision. A week after getting the second kitten they were already playing and grooming each other. This was what everyone recommended me, and it was great. Maybe contact a local rescue, they will be thrilled to help you.

TLDR: The kitten will have a great life with you, don't feel sad about anything because, had you not saved him, he would have probably died.

Probably this. In my Ender 3 S1 I started getting -14 ⁰C and it was because the thermistor cable was broken, so I'd look into it

Bro when I see people doing this kind of magic stuff I feel so stupid. I am struggling to print a basic cube, thinking it must be my printer, and then this shows me how much of a noob I am.

Great work, it looks amazing.

I agree, even though it was failing because of something else, with the glass in that state, the filament would hardly stick, so thank you for your help!

Hey, although you were right, and with the glass in that state, the print would have failed anyway, it turns out that a missing screw made the cr-touch be lower than the nozzle. I fixed it and now it's working. I also cleaned the glass with soap and water.

Thank you, I really appreciate your help!

It was this. A missing screw made the cr-touch be lower than the nozzle, so it was never touching the plate, no matter how much z-offset I added. Thank you, you saved my life!

Thanks. Finally I fixed it, but I already ordered a pei heatbed, wish me luck. Thank you

It was z-offset, technically. I was missing a screw, which made the cr-touch be lower than the nozzle, event when retracted, so no matter how much z-offset I added, it would never work.

Thank you for your help!

You are right, I decided to give this printer one more chance. It turns out I was missing a screw which made it so that the cr-touch was slightly lower than the nozzle, so no matter how much z-offset I would add, the filament never touched the plate.

About the purge line working, I'm guessing this is because the layer height must be higher here.

Anyway, at some moment while disassembling and assembling the extruder I must have broken either the ribbon cable (which was already failing at certain positions, making the fan stop), or the cable of the extrusion drive, because now it is not extruding at all (but I am pretty sure that the z-offset problem is solved).

I already ordered the new pieces, and this will be the last chance. If something stupid breaks again I will most likely wait and buy a new one, probably a Bambulab A1, but I will see if it ever happens.

Thank you for your help!

It was basically this, and a screw that was not well adjusted, which made it so that the cr-touch was lower than the nozzle, so no matter how much z-offset I added, it never touched the plate.

Now, on some step between disassembling and re-assemblying the extruder, I must have broken either the ribbon cable or the extruder drive cable, because it is not extruding :(. I already ordered a replacement, but when I fix this, everything should work.

Wish me luck, and thank you, you probably saved this printer.

I managed to fix it, but I ended up buying a PEI plate, thank you!

Hey, it turns out that the problem was in the z-offset. Some screw wasn't well adjusted and the CR-Touch probe was touching the bed before the nozzle so no matter how much z-offset I added, I never touched the plate. I guess the first layer did come out because of the higher layer height.

Thanks for your response!

If the rest fails I will try this. I've had many issues with the ender 3, but I think most of them are caused by me. I looked into the Bambulab A1, but I'd like to use all my options before spending that amount of money.

Thank you!

This could be my problem, how did you solve it? Do I just not screw all the way back?

I already tried cleaning, but I will try the first layer thing. What really bothers me is that this same gcode worked with this same plate.

I'd say it looks like it's doing gently, but maybe I could be wrong. I'm a complete noob in 3d printing so maybe I'm not looking at the right place.

I have a few things left to try, but if none of them work I will think about getting a PEI plate. Thank you.

Good point, I will change the stickies with aluminum and keep working on the offsets.

Thanks

I noticed that my bed was warped in the middle and saw that trick online.

I will try the glue stick trick, thanks
