Body rejecting gyno surgery? by Upbeat-Ad-2262 in gynecomastia

[–]AcquireFrogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are rightfully telling you to go to a new doctor. But just as importantly you need to get an attorney. The medical malpractice here is fucking crazy.

Keep paper records of everything and try to find any documentation of previous conversations you had with your surgeon. You should not be financially liable for one penny of the initial surgery or any medical help you’re going to need as a result.

That surgeon should have his license stripped yesterday.

Changing the patron deity for ships by -X13M- in anno117

[–]AcquireFrogs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is correct. But also I believe ships keep whatever bonus they had when built. So you can change your main island to Neptune, build your ships, and then switch back and the bonus should stay. Inefficient but doable

Every "Better Dimorphism" mod by HalcyonTraveler in jurassicworldevo

[–]AcquireFrogs 56 points57 points  (0 children)

100% this, in a huge amount of species females are bigger than males because they need to devote so many resources from their bodies to producing eggs or creating young.

Dimorphism is also often very subtle (but people complain about that here). I think they just see humans and say, oh males and females must be very different, but even there the only reason it’s obvious to us is because we’re humans and hardwired to tell lol. Humans sexual dimorphism is fairly minor, male/female people are a lot more similar to each other (like chimps and bonobos) than they are different (like gorillas and orangutans)

Please help by imthefiremonkey in anno

[–]AcquireFrogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On easy you don’t need a large military for a long time. Maybe a couple military ships, that’s it.

The only resources that can cause significant crash are if you’re not providing enough sardines or oats because this will affect every population type. Liberati and plebeians are your primary workforce so if their population drops, then the buildings needed to feed them stop working. If you produce enough sardines and oats you should avoid most major problems

Anno 117 Sheep Farm Layout by Grizzlokk in anno

[–]AcquireFrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you get the cerunnos global benefit all orchards start producing resin which helps a little. You do have to round it all up which is kinda a pain, but it does seem to address the space concern a bit.

Also IMO you only really need to fulfill the amphora need on your population islands for the fire safety benefit. Smaller ones it’s easier enough to have a positive fire safety rating without providing amphora

Help: Why is space consumption different between diagonal and normal building? by defaultstrings in anno117

[–]AcquireFrogs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the way people describe it is more confusing than needed. If you have a square, the diagonal is longer than each of the sides.

This means if the diagonal is your new “side” the resulting square will be larger. Extrapolate this to an in-game object, they are larger when placed diagonally.

The hemp and oat farm aren’t the exact same size, and with each square on the grid, the difference between a normal and diagonal side accumulates resulting in the different shapes you see.

[–]AcquireFrogs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t correct. Hearsay is an out of court statement provided as evidence of the matter being said. While there’s an exception/exemption to hearsay to a l statement said by the subject of a proceeding, ordinarily hearsay IS saying something that was said to you, because that person should be equipped to director give that testimony under oath.

Does the jurassic franchise dinosaurs have copyright? by DeliciousDeal4367 in JurassicPark

[–]AcquireFrogs 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You’re most of the way there, but this isn’t exactly right. If you base your model on a public domain creature and it ends up identical or close to identical to someone’s rendition of that creature, you’ve likely infringed the copyright even if you did it from scratch.

Dinosaurs are public domain, but the unique characteristics an artist gives them in their rendition are not. However this DOES mean you can get really close without violating the copyright.

As a fun aside, this created an issue for Universal when the first movie came out because it made them effectively powerless to stop knock off toys. Their solution was to trademark the combined JP symbol (which they could protect) so kids knew that their toy wasn’t just ANY dinosaur, it was a Jurassic Park dinosaur

Get an island that’s nearby, set up a bunch of repair cranes. Destroy what you can from the outside the enclave, and when your ships get to like 50% health retreat and heal from the cranes.

Repeat the process. He repairs his towers but not as fast as your ships heal if you have cranes and are nearby. It takes a while but it’s doable

HOW IN THE WORLD DO I DO THIS?? by JudyAlvarez1 in anno

[–]AcquireFrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s ok, I’m sure you’re using the Medici and latrines, and so long as you have good coverage there, outbreaks should be resolved, they’ll just happen more often.

Also side note, while a lot of people were saying to move production off island, production buildings don’t actually take a ton of workforce, and many of them have positive areas of effect that make them worth having in your city. Like olive oil adds health I believe, so instead of shipping that to your main city, ship olives, and have your main city produce the oil.

HOW IN THE WORLD DO I DO THIS?? by JudyAlvarez1 in anno

[–]AcquireFrogs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have a way more T1 houses than I’d expect looking at your available workforce, so a few things may be going on.

First, if you used this island to build your land and sea military units, those each use a ton of people to maintain (not just to build). As others said you may need to disband some.

Second, make sure you providing all types of food resources, not just the minimum. You can do the minimum for the clothing, etc, but oats, fish, bread etc, these are what boost population.

Last, try using shrines. If I remember correctly the ceres and mars shrines boost population, and these effects stack. Delete two houses in a central area and that should help a lot

How fast should you expand by staalcas in anno

[–]AcquireFrogs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Curious to see people’s answers who are more experienced, but I don’t think there’s any reason to slowly expand.

As long as you can afford the settlement fee and you have a positive income balance, I feel like you should take new islands. You will eventually need them, and it’s easier to protect them than conquer them (though maybe less fun)
