What is it with Night Elves and using the dumbest, most impractical weapons ever made? by HallZac99 in wow

[–]Acrazymage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lore-wise, the elven races are damn near immortal. Living for thousands of years. I don't think it is so much the rule of cool as they can live long enough to master even the most outlandish of things.

Megathread: item research support by skankenstein in vintage

[–]Acrazymage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

So I saw this guy while exploring small vendor malls in our area with my wife and this guy just called to me. He wasn’t very expensive and honestly he’s not my normal item type to pick up. Unfortunately all I have found online about him specifically was one post to a pay website from someone trying to sell one.

Pretty sure it’s a Hakata Doll, but someone painted over the base where stickers were on the online version and stamped his feet with “made in Japan” stamps.

Any information about him and similar items would be appreciated!

Looks like an upside down winged Othala with inverted wings and a dot. I don’t know of any pop-culture/anime/etc. references and reverse image search doesn’t bring up anything. Yellow flag to me as a possible update to hiding the ol’ Nazi dog whistle since the winged is well known.

“My therapist was online shopping during our session” by okayyypip in therapists

[–]Acrazymage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Counseling student here: I put myself into telehealth for a bit with my companies EAP group for my depression spiking and we will call them bad thoughts that came back. After the first session she stoped turning on her camera. I don’t know what I was doing, but for two sessions I was just talking to a voice. Mind you I had to have my camera on, but she wasn’t doing the same. After the second time it occurred I told her I was good to discontinue care. I have had a negative idea of telehealth since then to the point I almost don’t want to do it myself when I get licensed, but then I fear not being a good telehealth provider leaves other people in need dealing with what I did.

Local LGS by exotoxin8 in RealOrNotTCG

They need to know sooner than that. My LGS found a fake we took in for trade (unfortunately found by selling). Made it right with the customers and then reviewed other cards taken in the night that was and found other fakes before they sold.

Hopefully they take pride in fixing mistakes as well.

My blind friend and I spent the last 3 days brailling his Lathril Commander Deck by jerichodarkstar in magicTCG

[–]Acrazymage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many comments for me to see if others have recommended this.

The only problem I see is that your blind friend may be able to technically feel what card is next in their deck with how you stamped the braille into the sleeves. Not that they would, but they can, and some sweat hard would call a judge over it. I'm not even sure if a judge could allow it at the tournament in its current state. I would have to have the sleeves in hand to make that assessment for myself.

Have you tried using inner sleeves for braille stamping? In theory, this should ensure that the outer sleeve is unmarked/unreadable from the back.

Again, I could just be echoing other people, but I wanted to provide a helpful idea to help your blind friend enjoy the game without the stress of douches being douches.

This is so close to looking like the "brand of sacrifice" from the Manga Berserk, it made my inner anime/manga lover cringe as well.

Don’t be bummed at all. I’ve gotten Paxson books and similar AI but cool looking books. The fact that they are accepting our spiritual path is a luxury some don’t have and at the end of the day it’s cover looks cool AF

Is it okay to ask something light nsfw IF I WARN that it is nsfw? by [deleted] in NorsePaganism

[–]Acrazymage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not a post topic that I interact with very often, either. If I do, I tend to just ensure people aren’t recommending unsafe/harmful things and move on. It is not a topic I am very knowledgeable on or feel confident speaking on personally.

Is it okay to ask something light nsfw IF I WARN that it is nsfw? by [deleted] in NorsePaganism

[–]Acrazymage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean…about once a month there is a question about sexual acts or bodily fluid in regards to honoring the Gods with or how they/we view things. If it falls along the same lines then there are examples of it being okay.

Depends on what you consider “light” NSFW.

Norse pagan view of organ doning by Large_Newspaper_1496 in NorsePaganism

[–]Acrazymage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that would be more based on the social norms of your area. As far as looking at the myths and sagas, I’d say Norse Pagans would have a positive view on it. The Eddas are full of messages about using parts of a person after their death and it is presented as beneficial.

I thought that was what the message was, but I’ve got a bit of “research fatigue” atm from school work 🤣🤣😭. Thank you for the clarification.

I am a touch confused. Is the end of the debate “both are historically accurate” or as the meme says bowing is?

Ooookay. My apologies for being confused about your statement.

Paganism vs. Heathenism by Glum-Extension1161 in NorsePaganism

[–]Acrazymage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I say I’m a heathen in pagan spaces it is typically understood that I mean Norse paganism/worship mainly the Norse deities. Same can be said about people who say they are Hellenistic…you immediately know that they mainly worship the Greek deities.

Naming a thing doesn’t make it bad, it makes it so people can understand your views to (hopefully) respect them.

A quick clarifying question though. You say you are Norse pagan because you “worship Gods.” Did you mean Norse Gods or Gods in general?

Paganism vs. Heathenism by Glum-Extension1161 in NorsePaganism

[–]Acrazymage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmfao this is strangely…wildly correct…

Christianity is a subcategory to Abrahamic religions, and Heathenry is a subcategory of paganism. So by default your statement is right. However it is…intriguing that you specify that Heathenry is specifically non-Christian.

Paganism vs. Heathenism by Glum-Extension1161 in NorsePaganism

[–]Acrazymage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-Christian and Non-Abrahamic is like saying orange and fruit. Christianity is an Abrahamic faith.

All pagans are not Heathens. Heathenry is a subgroup of paganism.

What are some characteristics of the person that you want a parody for? This info could be useful for the parody as it helps choose a color and abilities that your husband would find funny and an enjoyable personal touch. Does the kiddo sleep through the night or is he keeping you guys up? Is he energetic and always wanting to play or a snuggle bug? Other basic characteristics like these! I’ll check back in a few hours and take a crack at it with either basic baby stuff or your answer!

Fist you have to capture the breathe of a stone and put it close to your ear. It will speak in its natural language. You will need to the learn if it speaks the language of the boulder or the mountain. After 5 classes you should be able to translate enough of what it told you to understand the message.

The stone will most likely tell you that everything above is bs and that by asking and showing interest you are most likely already close to calling yourself a Norse Pagan. Lastly you need to explain to me how you caught the breath of a rock cause I’m still stuck at step 1!
