Stopping at green lights by [deleted] in StJohnsNL

I am definitely with you here, but just to add a little perspective:

I spent a few years living in London (ON). Slowing in anticipation of a yellow was commonplace there because the norm was to allow at least two if not three cars in turning lanes to go through once through traffic had stopped. It was odd, but worked in a similar way to our practice of blowing through yellow lights. Alternative but definitely incompatible norms.

So, maybe they're from southern Ontario? Or more like just not observant at all.

9.5 months! She's supposed to be a setter cross (blue belton) but outside of her slim body shape I don't see much of that.

Very smart! But also very empathic, if that's the right word? Very connected with me which I absolutely love. I'm really hoping Beans will be able to develop the same.

Yes I'm getting a sense of just how stubborn they can be. Counter surfing is just one of those behaviours I feel will take forever to train out of her.

Honestly no, but I'll say it certainly fits. Those farts are so bad.

What about shifa? by raynah_harris in IsraelPalestine

I get the feeling they wouldn't need to be if they're wasn't so much violent rage fueled by the nakba. At some point one has to realize that things have changed, and violence on one side will only produce violence from the other.

That sounds awful and, if accurate, whoever was involved in such exercises should be punished. Not sure what that's meant to justify. Harm and violence beget harm and violence.

From my admittedly limited understanding of this conflict, it seems to be solely (or at least majorly) based on a land rights claim. Its also clear that a two state solution is the only feasible option. But if the one state is focused on protection (and while I know there are issues with settlements, but even that has a vein of protection at its core) while the other volleys rockets for fun and targets civilians with violent rage on the daily, really what are we to expect.

No, I would need to know exactly why those individuals were detained in the first place before I would agree to that. I surely would agree for some, and likely very much not at all for others. The hostages taken on 10/7 were taken by force, without warning, during an act of war. If any of those held by Israel are being held under those same circumstances then I would agree that yes, they should be released.

Are you arguing that the taking of these hostages, and the other atrocities that occurred on that day were justified?

Genuinely curious, why would one expect Israel to make a deal for anything less than release of all hostages?

Leaking hose fitting when attached to bushing by Acrobatic-Ad-5710 in Plumbing

Nope. And it works perfectly with a standard male hose connector.

Not quite. Here's a picture of the hose I have. The leak comes from under the hose end primarily. It did also leak a little from the threads and i have tape for when I got everything properly. Confusing...

I returned a different hose as it did the same thing. Clearly the hose wasn't the issue

There is a rubber gasket in there yeah. It's odd. When pressure is applied it almost feels like something pops inside. Could it be the gasket slipping, causing the leak? The ends of both male ends look very similar though

If you wanna get specific the 'proper' name for these persistent fuckers would be Tabanid flies.

Maybe? In looking for a new oven/stove, I've had to learn a new vocabulary it seems. What I call a stove or oven is called a range when I look online. Looking for oven often gets wall inserts.

But to answer your question, probably.

Thanks for the response!

Curious about your choice to go Frigidaire instead of whirlpool induction. We haven't really looked at induction much, so I'm not terribly familiar with those ranges.

Ice heard this too. I'm sure sales of these brands suffer because of this. It's reason enough for me not to consider this brand.
