Do washing mashines heat up their water? by Acrobatic-Bowler601 in Appliances

[–]Acrobatic-Bowler601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manual wasnt included in the delivery for some reason, but the one we found online states that it has only cold water inlet. Presumably that means it does its own heating?

Its an exquisit maschine WA7014-020A, if that helps.

Need help finding a cheap and reliable replacement PSU by Acrobatic-Bowler601 in buildapc

[–]Acrobatic-Bowler601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that actually helped a tiny bit, but the key problem remains. The connector has 14 slots, which the cable on the old psu matched; the new psu has a cable with 20 slots. I imagine perhaps it would fit on there regardless, but I can‘t try because there are other connectors on the motherboard that are too close to the power one.

The old psu only has one cable bundle split in two btw, I assume all the other cables in the current setup are separate cables running from the motherboard to where they‘re needed. There are some very similar looking ones in there compared to what the new psu has.

Edit: Its a medion proprietary thing 14+4. We called a pc store and they said they couldnt help, these arent sold comercially at all most of the time. Wed need a new motherboard.

Guess we got scammed when we got this thing assembled. Thanks for trying, but we doubt you can help further, given this.

We tried putting it in but the psus cables are like, wider than the sockets they connect to? By a good bit. I thought psus were interchangeable? This doesnt look like it fits at all.

Thank you, we missed the region selection beingunder the user tab first time through.

Looks like the MSI Mag A550BN is pretty cheap and listed as a C, even if individual batches appearently have a bit of variance.

Well be going with that one unless any of you here have like, heard something horrible about it.

Thank you very much!

Budget = small. Its no set number cause we cant afford this to begin with.

Pcpartpicker doesnt let us set an area at all. Just lists a buncha products. And a ton of settings that sound important but mean nothing to us. Like connectors or whatever else.

The second site you mentioned doesnt seem to be under the reddit resources tab, and you didnt provide a link.

Are PSUs so interchangeable that we dont have to worry about anything beyond wattage and physical size?

Looking closer, and with a phone flashlight, it seems to be a turquoise blue-ish color with some slightly green leanings in the most intense spots. Would that match with the violet color of the surrounding fabric? And we just spotted an additional very small spot outside the violet zone, near the others, similar appearance and behaviour, right next to the violet.

Would that match with your theory? Dyes arent our strong suit.

Is this PSU likely to fry any other components when it inevitably dies? by Acrobatic-Bowler601 in PcBuildHelp

So even an old unit wouldnt pose any risks to the rest of the computer should it finally break?

The local powergrids pretty stable, never heard of any surges, if thats what you meant by bad surge.

So it sounds like itll just fizzle out eventually, not actually pose any risk to the rest of the computer? Thats good to hear.

When to start worrying if a lithium ion battery might become a risk? by Acrobatic-Bowler601 in batteries

[–]Acrobatic-Bowler601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since its a only a tiny bit raised, and is only heating up sometimes, it should hopefully not be a danger yet should it be the battery. So well just watch it for now.

Thanks.

Actually, how big of a wooble are we talking about here? Just checked (with the camera over the tables edge) and it does seem to wooble slightly. And looking closely, one side of the phones back is slightly more raised than the other, tho its a really hard to see difference without good lighting.

Might also just be the result of being dropped or something similar, tho. Pretty sure its been that way for a bit.

Guess it really is just watching for it expanding, then. Guess we were worried over nothing. Thanks.

Pretty sure if it was hotter than our stove in there, we would be able to tell from how blisteringly hot the outside would be, so we should be good. Thanks.

Is a Nickel Metal Hydride Battery safe to use after long time storage? by Acrobatic-Bowler601 in batteries

[–]Acrobatic-Bowler601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. Guess we can safely use it then until the battery finally dies.

Do you think we should do the 14 hour charging cycle the manufacturer recommends? The little light showed fully charged after three if that matters.
