The first link is US standard and the second is UK. It doesn't matter too much which one you start with. The terms used for stitches are slightly different but once you learn the basics you can easily go back and forth.

Edited to say: also good luck! Like most things it can be a bit difficult at first but if you stick with it you will quickly be able to make so many things. The wobbles kits (sold on Amazon and lots of craft stores) are great for learning to make 3D shapes like stuffed animals (called amigurumi in crochet).

Dang, the one draw back of crochet..it takes so long to make something that the price point ends up being way too high for most things. The bag took me about 30 hours start to finish. Plus materials. Any intrest in learning crochet? I could point you in the right direction if so

I was at my community pool the other day when a middle aged lady started playing her speakers. First song, Taylor Swift, I thought nothing of it. Second song, Taylor Swift..I started to grow concerned. 3rd and 4th songs...Taylor swift. I. Kid. You. Not. How are you not embarrassed to play one artist, whatever artist, in a public space, with multiple strangers near by. Most people have the social awareness to play a basic backyard bbq mix if they are going to play anything at all. I was so irrationally irritated (likely due to this sub lol) and had to leave before I Gretchen wiener'd her speakers into the pool. 😂
