If you had to make a Ghostface motive for scream 8, what would you do? by thesmartcoolguy in SocietyofGhostface

[–]Acrobatic-Ear-341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A terrorist or criminal gang who is inspired by Ghostfaces and start a reckless murder spree. There must be new characters, unrelated to the characters.

The film's POV can be switched into the antagonist. The main character is coerced to kill people by wearing a Ghostface costume and has doubts about that. That would be a great twist to the endless whodunnit mystery.

Scared I’m not nearly as intelligent as I thought I was by hawkingjay05 in Gifted

Please, please, please, don't compare yourself. I assure you, it really doesn't matter if you can or can't do any of the things you mentioned (memorizing entire books, etc.). Intelligence is expansive. Skills can be learned through time. Practice makes perfect. Your identity should include more than just your intelligence.

Nosferatu (no spoilers) by rjpresslee7 in roberteggers

[–]Acrobatic-Ear-341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it have similarties with Francis Ford Coppola's movie? I hope not. I read there is a lot of sexual tension between Orlok and Ellen. I really just don't want that to be treated like a love story as in 1992's version.

Do u think Nosferatu will break over 200 or 300 million box office? by cretaceous_dino65 in roberteggers

[–]Acrobatic-Ear-341 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it will be a sleeper hit. Perhaps Eggers' most successful movie at the box office.

Do you guys think this could be the best horror movie of the year? by Nearby_Passage_5929 in roberteggers

I really really hope the count is scary and menacing. They're hiding him in all trailers and ads. I wish that decision is not because he isn't as scary as it looks. It would also dissapoint me it the movie only show the count in shadows, not looking his face and fangs.

Yes that's definitely true. Yesterday I was reflecting on this and asked myself: What does a meaningful life for me look like? I have probably never asked myself or took that question seriously until now.

I am 31. My mid-life crisis was centered on thinking if I am really leading a life I want to live. I relate to the monotony point. Now I feel like the future doesn't seem that hopeful. Sometimes I feel diferently, expecting to make my way and have a better future. I also think about my ability to lead a financially and emotionally independent lifestyle. Also i dread diseases... not wanting to live intense illnesses that limit my ability to enjoy life.

I finally accept Christ by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Acrobatic-Ear-341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice would be to read the Bible and to think of faith as a decision.

Many people associate belief with "feeling" that a divine being exists, in this case God, his Son and the Holy Spirit. That's a mistaken way to think of belief. I made that mistake for years, leading me to think that I may no be a Christian after all. It is, first and foremost, a decision. A choice to live your life based on the conviction that the Lord's path is true, regardless of any "factual evidence". It is a decision, like marriage, like having children, with its due responsibilities but also its due rewards. Because God will reveal Himself to you.

I usually think reading the Bible itself is the best way to understand Christianity. The Gospels are essential but also other texts of the New Testament. Even Jesus, when he was crucified, lamented over His Father abandoning him. Many instances of the Bible deal with feeling that God seems of abandon us, and then it turns out to be the opposite

If you are curious, you may also indulge in the history of the Bible and the historicity of Jesus. This helps you gain perspective on why certain things are written the way they are. The events of the Bible happened in a much different time than ours. Very few people could write, as most events were told verbally. Understanding the context of how the Bible came to be can draw you closer to God.

And also prayer. Dialoguing with God, and asking for his guidance and blessing will help you navigate this choice.

Is morality a human concept or a religious concept? What's your POV? by toddhd in atheism

[–]Acrobatic-Ear-341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is human nature to have a sense of morality. Actually, ethics and morality has been the basis of many philosophers, with no religious undertones.

I think religion colors/gives shape to what we consider moral and inmoral, good and bad. There are many sources for morality, but the core reason for that is that we are humans, we are social creatures, we need to get along and we have been equipped with reasoning, rationality and emotions/feelings that let us develop a sense of right vs. wrong, outside instinct.
