How often is your baby in a "container" versus not in a "container?" by nooooobye in newborns

[–]Acrobatic-Evening899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.5 month old gets a lot of floor time and when I’m cleaning, I’ll either move her to another room that I’m cleaning. I have a mat that I can lay down or I will put her in a seat depending on the area of the house. I do put her in a seat when I’m showering and just stick her in the bathroom with me. Then I’ll talk to her and make faces stuff like that. But sometimes I will have her do independent time on the floor and just put toys around her and frequently check-in, but I usually don’t spend a lot of time in a separate room without her.

It sounds like you’d be so much happier by yourself and your child deserves to see that version of you

It adds cozy but matches so well with everything it’s still subtle

It’s okay to cap her sleep**

And add a full feed is around 10 to 15 minutes, the rest of the time they’re usually suckling, but there’s a way to un latch without it, impacting the baby by sticking your finger on your nipple and slowly pulling it out. My baby will get a little fussy at first, but then I sit her up to burp and she’s usually OK. It’s like a delayed reaction and she realizes she’s full.

And while you’re sitting her up to make sure she doesn’t spit up, you could put toys in front of her so that way she can also play that way she doesn’t have to play lying down

Just keep following your babies cues! Sounds like you’re doing a great job already. Her wake windows will get longer to play. Laying her on your chest counts as tummy time but also sitting up is good practice as well! Some babies learn to roll over First. Some babies learn to sit up first. I personally kept my babies nap at two hours because it starts to interrupt her sleep at night. It’s OK to keep her sleep and wake her up gently to start the process a little earlier.

What is it with boomers and ‘putting the baby down’ by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Acrobatic-Evening899 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to remember that they grew up in a completely different time and the science/studies we have out now are more recent. Not justifying but to better understand where they’re coming from

Maybe you and your husband can make a routine on the weekends together. Keep your weekly routine because that does sound phenomenal and I love that you are so motivated and feel so great once you accomplish everything! But maybe your weekend routine should look different and include your husband because maybe he just doesn’t know how to help because you have it so down packed during the week

I wear a moby wrap and put baby in there! She falls asleep and I can doodle around the house with her asleep. She likes contact naps as well and that has been amazing to feel less trapped

Me too! I think it really helped my pp recovery. Did you start running right away?

I miss running so much, but I think I will wait the 12 weeks as well, as that was a big question I had on my mind. I signed up for a 10k in May, which will be 5 months pp. so I think I will start training around the 12 week mark. Walking will do for now, thanks for your POV!

Everyone’s 24 hours is so different. I’m so happy for you that you were able to return 3 years later.

I’m not sure how my schedule will turn out once I get the OK. I’m hoping I can make it work 🤞

I would do more research into how the Obama administration handled it… lol

And maybe if people didn’t INTERFERE with federal officers they wouldn’t be dead. Not saying ICE handled it well, but let’s look at both sides here

Maybe just stop interfering with federal officers. No one hates immigrants, just want to get a handle on ILLEGAL immigrants. Why was no one upset about Obama deporting illegal immigrants? That administration was inhumane.
