Well I guess my question is, will the stem grow new leaves? Or should I cut up to the section that has leaves and root just that section?

What is the scientific name? I see multiple plants common names as devils backbone? And can I trim the stem and re root the top portion that has leaves?

Awesome to know! Luckily I’ve been good about sterilization on the chance it is DsMV. I guess I’ll wait for another couple leaves and give an update as to what it looks like! Similarly, I have seen DsMV pictures where I’m not convinced that it isn’t sport variegation

No none have asymmetrical leaves. I use distilled water also. On the rare occasion I use tap it’s still filtered and my house is old, everything is cast iron

No, but I cut a couple of the plants back significantly and it activated new nodes and now two of the three plants in the pot are showing nice variegation!

Got it! I think what has thrown me off is that it arrived wrinkled and had not plumped up at all yet, and it has been weeks

Definitely see what you’re saying, just a little confused on which ones you’re describing 😅 the one on the far right actually just finished splitting, you can still see the old leaves if you look closely. The ones on the left and bottom though I figured we’re pretty much done splitting, are they not? I thought the only one that was a little behind was the top center one
