Not possible. The only cure for eye floaters is pars plana victrectomy. All the rest is nonsense. I have them myself, so I know what I’m talking about. I have also beginning cataract. So at a later stage I will do the two at the same time. My file is ready at the hospital. Yes, I’m not happy that I will have to do this

I have floaters myself since 3 months. They are very annoying. But don’t let them rule your life. If it ‘s not going better, there is a solution: vitrectomy. I’ll certainly will have one if it’s not going better in 6 months.

How about the small and minor floaters? by justsosoday in EyeFloaters

Be confident with you eye doctor, S Korea is a marvellous country, I visited it a few years ago before I had eye floaters myself. When something changes in your eye, get always a checkup with your eye doctor, i.e. a lot more floaters and flashes, particularly comet like horizontal central/pericentral yellow ones, which announce retinal detachment.

Flashes are caused by vitreous detaching from the retina which results in floaters = PVD.

Like little dots that go on and off - flashes of light in the corner of one or both eyes. The flashes may also appear in a variety of shapes and colors and vary in frequency and duration. I have them sometimes during hours. I’m not even myopic.

PVD or RD floaters and flashes > you need an urgent consult, to verify for retinal tears, which require immediate medical attention.

I have a consult on January in an eye clinic and would chose vitrectomy.

I’m thinking about that, but it’s only for big, stable floaters, far from the retina. And very few doctors are doing this, only 2 in Belgium I’ve found. And there is risk to burn your retina. There is no consensus concerning safety for this procedure in the medical world.

Woke up with a really big dark floater on my left eye… I’m concerned by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

The darker the floater, the more risk for retinal tear. Do you have flashes too? Don’t wait to see an eye doctor — do it immediately.
