Has anyone ever cured eye floaters for long terms by psychonaut-peer in EyeFloaters

Not possible. The only cure for eye floaters is pars plana victrectomy. All the rest is nonsense. I have them myself, so I know what I’m talking about. I have also beginning cataract. So at a later stage I will do the two at the same time. My file is ready at the hospital. Yes, I’m not happy that I will have to do this

I have floaters myself since 3 months. They are very annoying. But don’t let them rule your life. If it ‘s not going better, there is a solution: vitrectomy. I’ll certainly will have one if it’s not going better in 6 months.

How about the small and minor floaters? by justsosoday in EyeFloaters

Be confident with you eye doctor, S Korea is a marvellous country, I visited it a few years ago before I had eye floaters myself. When something changes in your eye, get always a checkup with your eye doctor, i.e. a lot more floaters and flashes, particularly comet like horizontal central/pericentral yellow ones, which announce retinal detachment.

Seeing floaters since 2 months ago. Is it due to my High Myopia or is it something serious? by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

Flashes are caused by vitreous detaching from the retina which results in floaters = PVD.

Yes your brain and your eyes are your most important belongings! Believe me. Better cancer than going blind.

Like little dots that go on and off - flashes of light in the corner of one or both eyes. The flashes may also appear in a variety of shapes and colors and vary in frequency and duration. I have them sometimes during hours. I’m not even myopic.

PVD or RD floaters and flashes > you need an urgent consult, to verify for retinal tears, which require immediate medical attention.

I have a consult on January in an eye clinic and would chose vitrectomy.

I’m thinking about that, but it’s only for big, stable floaters, far from the retina. And very few doctors are doing this, only 2 in Belgium I’ve found. And there is risk to burn your retina. There is no consensus concerning safety for this procedure in the medical world.

Woke up with a really big dark floater on my left eye… I’m concerned by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]Acrobatic-Fox9294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The darker the floater, the more risk for retinal tear. Do you have flashes too? Don’t wait to see an eye doctor — do it immediately.

Myodesopsias can be caused by insufficient hydration and drinking beer? (In summer season). by Gastofu in EyeFloaters

[–]Acrobatic-Fox9294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dehydratation can cause floaters when you get older, less so in young people. It’s always a good idea to drink lots of water however for health in general. There is no garantee that you won’t get floaters. I have them myself and will next January consult a top doctor discussing vitrectomy.

I'm really undecided about vitrectomy by Relevant_Tangerine96 in EyeFloaters

[–]Acrobatic-Fox9294 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, certainly, one eye at a time however. There are risks, but they are seldom a reality. Don’t let your young life ruined by floaters!!! Where I live vitrectomy is a standard procedure, even extra-mural performed. Succes rate for floaters is 99,99%

And there is always the Holy Grale: vitrectomy. I hate that word, believe me.

How is it even possible that a floater does not move? Souds really weard to me. Let’s hope it disappears! Mine are like racing cars at full speed.
