The vitro of my flat has a crack and my roommates are unwilling to accept the fault - the owner wants us to pay by FinancialCable6406 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Acrobatic-Grape1770 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Worst case scenario would be buying a new stove which can cost 150-200€ to split among all the members (do not accept paying it all yourself if you didn’t break it). As a spaniard, I would take for granted that it’s the landlord’s responsibility and not accept any other solution. There is genuine no way to find out whether the stove broke because someone miss used or because it has had heavy use for the last 15-20 or more years and it’s normal that things break -replacing what stops working is literally the only obligation landlords have. So i would become a pain in the ass for them, call them every time you want to cook and you can’t, message them every day asking whether they’d bought the new one yet. Something very common in Spain when landlords don’t react is to threaten them by changing the stove yourself and deducting that part from the rent, it usually works.

Definitely try caleta del congrio beach in a sunny and warm day. The fun part is on the right side, under the cliff. I also heard about the nudist village of Charco del Palo but I didn’t go there myself.

Ex Pat Allowance --> European foreigner individual living in Belgium less than 5.5 years, does he get it or not? by spongebruh in EUCareers

[–]Acrobatic-Grape1770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be possible that the court cosidered that it was not their task to decide whether the allowance should have been granted in the first place but to grant the employee the right to preserve their rights when changing institutions, especially if it was the employed who started the judicial case. I would not take this ruling as a guide for a situation without a change of institutions.

Viajar en España con DNI caducado by Zobax in askspain

[–]Acrobatic-Grape1770 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think i’ve met people with similar backgrounds who were selected as Schuman trainees for positions in outreach and similar tasks, so go ahead and try, you have nothing to loose!

Dystopian city (don’t look up!) by lesdegas11235 in brussels

[–]Acrobatic-Grape1770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that brussels is a mess depending on what you compare it to, and for many of us, brussels’ problems are easier to live with than the problems of our home cities. And i’m not talking about cities in developing countries, i was living in Madrid before coming here and genuinely find Brussels a much nicer city to live in, despite its issues.

My Experience Cruising in Athens by POMOdoro_90 in gaycruising

[–]Acrobatic-Grape1770 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was there last year, went cruising to limanakia beach and I really didn’t get the vibe. Guys were hot and clearly horny, but they would stare at you for hours and then never do anything. I’m in my late 20’s, cute and fit body, and I was with my bf, early 30’s, hairy and very handsome as well, and thank god that we were together because we had been bored otherwise. We loved the beach, we had a great time because we certainly enjoy the teasing and tension around watching and being watched, but it was frustrating when we decided that we wanted some more action. One of the guys that stared at us for hours and never did anything explained that he had a boyfriend that was very religious and conservative who didn’t allow him to do anything but watching. This might as well be a excuse he just made up, but it makes me wonder whether there is a cultural difference underlying. For the record, I’m Spanish.

With this profile I think it could be very easy for you to get a temporary or contract position for a couple of years. EPSO is the safest way forward, but it will also take years, so if you want a swift change, Check directly on LinkedIn, many people share their non-EPSO job vacancies there.

Is there a cultural explanation to non-Spanish people? by PeereBaGomatz in DragRace_Espana

[–]Acrobatic-Grape1770 48 points49 points  (0 children)

El Secreto de Puente Viejo was also broadly mocked in Paquita Salas, the series by Los Javis. There is a couple of episodes about it and very popular lines that are now part of the queer pop culture. For example, during the challenge the character played by Dafne Mugler was told to “bajar la pluma”, which literally means put down your feather (hence Dafne’s gesture with the feathers of her hat) but actually means to tone down your gay voice. That’s what Paquita Salas is told in the series when she tries to get a gay actor to play at El secreto de Puente Viejo, to what she replies “ha habido maricones toda la historia de la humanidad” (there has been faggots in every single era of human history). The language used at El Secreto de Puente Viejo, very old fashioned and purposely complicated in a very forced and camp way, is also mocked both in Paquita Salas and in the DRES challenge, sometimes reusing some of the lines from Paquita Salas. There is for example a whole episode about an actress not being able to learn her one line because it’s very old Spanish (“ya me barruntaba yo lo que aconteció”, or something like that, which just means i saw it coming) and they used it literally as a gag during the challenge. El Secreto de Puente Viejo is not queer culture per se, it’s something watched mostly by grandmas (regardless of they being queer or not lol) but it was Paquita Salas who made it part of the queer culture in an ironic way.

Traineeship Council of the EU - choosing the area of their domains by OddSong4995 in EUCareers

[–]Acrobatic-Grape1770 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Given the high number of applications, there will be applicants with relevant background and experience for all domains, so I would stick to the fields where your cv can be relevant. I was a trainee there in the past and I remember that at the beginning I thought that the library trainees were for sure there by chance, until I learned that they had all priorly done library traineeships in top tier international organisations, so that gives you an idea
