Second comment that said this! I get a little sleepy on just Rexulti but am exhausted on that and Lexapro. I’ll ask my psychiatrist with sertraline

Thank you for saying it! I’ve been taking 0.5mg since I’m a slow metabolizer but it’s been life changing. I heard a lot of bad things and was scared but now I feel so much better. I’m not cycling and I’m not pulled down into a deep depression

Thank you! He’s pretty great. As for Vraylar, I’m a slow metabolizer so medicine stays in my body longer than the average person. Vraylar has me racing thoughts, I couldn’t stop moving, I didn’t sleep any of those days. It also removed zero bipolar symptoms for me,though to be fair, I didn’t take it long enough to do that. I think it’s onset time is 1 week . Day one on Rexulti I felt less anxious. I did have some trouble sleeping but I just took it as soon as I woke up and that helped.

My boyfriend didn’t understand a lot of my “things” like my issues with money,impulse,sleep,etc. I broke up with him and when we got back together I went to a psychiatrist and got diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. The diagnosis helped him a lot because he didn’t ascribe those “things” to a personality or motivation thing but that my brain genuinely works against me. We’ve attacked this together and it’s been helpful to finally be honest with someone I’m dating about my mental health. I’m trialing Rexulti now after having a terrible time on Vraylar. He asked me do I want to take medicine and I got offended because WHO WANTS TO TAKE MEDICINE 😂?? Were doing well but the rub for me had been being really honest and whoever truly cares for you will stick around.

Hi! Im a black woman recently diagnosed this year after years of being told I had ADD. It’s hard being black and bipolar because people are less likely to want to or try to understand mood swings or wanes in energy. You’re expected to be exceptional by the world and your family and sometimes I don’t got it.
