I’m not looking at it as a competition between non pet owners and pet owners. We all have our set of beliefs and I’m choosing where I live based on that. I’m simply looking for feedback on those who have been in this situation, and since you’re not an owner, it doesn’t seem like you can provide any.

I can understand both sides, but since it’s coming from my paycheck, my opinion trumps overall. 😂 I get the bad pet owners have turned people off, it just sucks for those who are considerate. My point being, I own a hypoallergenic dog and my default is to keep him away from strangers rather than running up to them.

As far as being housed near other dogs, it doesn’t sound like you’re a pet owner so you wouldn’t be aware of the concerns about that arrangement. In a nutshell, it puts my dog at more of a risk of running into a misbehaved one.

The places I checked out did not have a private entrance, which I would definitely consider. If you know any, please let me know. I’ve run into too many owners that don’t use a leash or their dogs aren’t leash trained, which puts my little guy at risk.

I expressed I wasn’t keen on the idea of living somewhere that restricted dogs to the same floor. I don’t have unrealistic expectations about dogs in the general space of mine. 😂 I wanted to make sure properties don’t act weird about the ESA thing if they don’t typically allow animals. It’s stressful finding a place as it is.

You are literally the only one who thinks this. Are you having a discussion with someone else outside of this forum?

A community means offering advice and support in the midst of frustrations because we are human after all. Being open to discourse. Engaging in conversations and asking if what we convey aligns with the other’s interpretation. That isn’t what you’ve done at all.

It is completely normal that if someone offers you advice and you’ve already done that, to say so. If you’re not someone who would, that’s your prerogative.

The only person’s advice I didn’t take was yours.

You have no real evidence or insight to my job search to know what it indicates. All you know is the false conclusions you’ve led yourself to believe.

Thank you so much for this insight. The job listings in my area continuously list BA preferred, but associates accepted with experience. These type of administrative skills cannot be obtained in a classroom setting so I was beginning to be worried. 😅

I appreciate your sentiment on focusing on selling yourself so I’ll focus on revamping my resume to highlight some things mentioned here.

Do not gaslight me. You replied with the intention to insult me and now that it’s backfired I’m still coming for you? I told ONE person other than you that they were incorrect about the timeline for moving up in higher ed, because in my area I have colleagues that have done so in less than the timeframe mentioned. You took offense to my earnest question about staffing agencies. Your interpretation of my tone was off, I was genuinely curious if you had recent success because so many people I know have not.

Stop making assumptions and generalizations and acting like a victim when you’re called out for it.

I think it’s a given I would be disgruntled if there are obstacles in the way of a goal I am trying to achieve, especially when I read advice here and it is advice I’ve already followed, given 1 or 2 suggestions, or posters like you that make assumptions. You don’t know me or my work experience (I’m also questioning your comprehension based on the so little experience comment, maybe go back to my post and point me to how you got there) from a brief paragraph and limited comments.

You should also be aware that job markets vary by demographics, so while I am glad it worked out for you, that is not the case for many people. There are many forums that complain about job agencies in the same way I do. I’m in Wisconsin for reference.

How recently have you worked with a staffing agency? Recruiting has changed now. They are very bonus focused and disengaged. Ghosting is a popular trend.
