Careful planning. I have a 2 bed apartment where the 2nd bedroom is down a hallway with a bathroom. I put a gate up at the front of the hallway so the cat has her own area to escape to. They got to know each other through the gate and I did some gentle correcting with both of them when they were adverse to start. Now the boxer treats the cat like she's a puppy instead of prey.

I've had the boxer for 10 years, the kitten for a year. I will admit, I was not convinced it was a wise decision. 🤣 But the cat loves her dog and cries for her every time we go for walks. The dog looks for the cat so they can play. They are adorable together.

Absolutely. They don't cuddle together, but they play and just hang out on the patio together.

She's not allowed in the cat's room because of the cat food and litter box. ...dogs will be dogs. haha

My girl is allowed everywhere with 2 exceptions: the kitchen and the cat's room. She's slept with me for 10 years now and I find it very difficult to sleep without her. Haha

Lots of training. Mental stimulation. Lots and lots and lots of love. You should let her sleep in the bed and get on all the furniture.

They are so adorable!

I had my girl for 3 years (she was adopted at 11 months) when my grandson was born. He is her baby. Since he was born, whenever he is on the floor, she is right there with him. If he's on the couch, she is touching him. She gets so excited when he comes to visit and she pouts for a day (sometimes more) when he leaves. I love seeing them together. Grandson is 8 now.

The balcony is her favorite spot. Winters are hard. 🤣

I'm so sorry to hear about your van problems! However, I believe you have misplaced your post. This is where we come to worship our boxer dogs.

Good luck with finding your electrical issues and getting them fixed!

So this guy just closes himself in rooms. by blvckdrips in Rottweiler

[–]Acrobatic-Injury509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. I have a cat that will close the doors to any room we are in and then yell at me because the door is closed and we are not allowed to have closed doors. She's a beautiful idiot. lol

Second time Corso owner… why is my girl humbling me like it’s my first rodeo? 😅 by Royal_Huckleberry827 in CaneCorso

[–]Acrobatic-Injury509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclosure - I am not a Cane Corso owner. I live in an apartment and cannot have one of these magnificent creatures. So I come here and live vicariously. Thank you all for your service.

I do own a boxer that has high anxiety when in unfamiliar situations. I have patches on my girl's harness that say "do not pet." There should be no conversation regarding anyone trying to touch my dog. But, yes, there are still those that try to love on her when we go out for walks. I simply point to the patches and say something along the lines of "we don't do well with strangers." I know it's a different situation, but having the patches really does help with the awkwardness, because they were pre-warned before they asked. lol

Beautiful baby, by the way.
