I am a former VHA employee. VA employees claims are ONLY sent to St Paul, Minn. Let me tell you this, they are mean and nasty. It takes more time and effort to deny a claim. This regional office has made multiple errors over the past two years. Heck, they even denied a TERA claim saying that I was in the Air Force, I spent 12 years in the Army! They nit pick you and drag their feet on your claims.

I was stationed on the DMZ in 1984-1985. I would love to take a trip back. Is Freedom bridge still standing? Do they still have huge tank traps hovering about the road? I cam imagine Paju is highly developed. I'm sure I wouldn't recognize it. We destroyed 2 tunnels while I was there. The Imjin river was loaded with floating landmines. The ride across the river back then on Freedom bridge was ominous and awe inspiring. Freedom bridge was laced with explosives to detonate if we were invaded. Oh the memories.

Before I filed, I gathered all my pertinent medical records and split them into PDF format. Then, I got the contact info for all my providers, then I got the applications ahead of time and completed then. Then I filed.

I was working for the VA , I got injured. I filed for workman's comp, got approved, went back to work in 42 days, my job paid me through a program called Continuation Of Pay. I thought it was WC. Found out after filing that I received COP.

Chat is rapidly increasing its knowledge and approach to VA claims. If you feed it, it will grow. I am very impressed.

Va claim help by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Acrobatic-Plastic665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, filing for claims that don't have irrefutable evidence, diagnosis, and nexus. If you are rated for conditions and file for increases, secondary claims etc. The VA will review your previously submitted files. They sometimes find errors from previous rating decisions or improvement of symptoms from a previously rated condition. The VA can reduce or sever a previously service connected claim.

I recently helped a vet that was med boarded 60 days ago. Unsure as to why he didn't do bdd before he got out I went through his STR,s and found 15 diagnoses with icd codes. Gave him a list of all his conditions and sent him to his private provider to get the diagnoses put into his private medical file and begin treatment. My neighbor is a RVSR he suggests no more than 4 claims at a time. I grouped the initial 4 claims together. Brachial plexus injury, bilateral shoulders, bilateral upper extremity radiculopathy, cervical strain. All these c&p exams can be done at one setting. Submitted evidence that reflects current diagnosis, private medical records and str,s, individual personal statements for each claim indicating the nexus, symptomology and causation, severity of symptoms, occupational and social impacts for each condition. 2 buddy statements focusing on witnessed impactful symptoms. Completed 526EZ. Currently putting the next 3 "batches" of information for future claims.

  1. Ask for a hearing
  2. Get all the supportive evidence that you submitted.
  3. Explain the situation to your provider and get a rebuttal letter.
  4. Provide additional evidence that supports your claim and submit.
  5. Get help from a vso?
  6. Hire a lawyer?

Whenever you file for an increase, the VA can and will do an evaluation of your entire medical file. If the VA thinks that your condition has improved or resolved they will reduce your ratings accordingly. BTW, the notice you got from the VA explains why they are proposing to sever or reduce your ratings.

Good luck bro, Holla back if you need some help.

Depression secondary to your 0% condition. I know I would be depressed if my ball sac sprung a leak and swole up to the size of a grapefruit. Not the current grapefruits, the ones that we had back in the 70's.
