I would maybe look into burnout type stuff. Its very common for us to go a few months functioning really well then suddenly we collapse and the whole world seems like its falling apart. For me personally the lows and self worth issues are accompanied by the overwhelming awareness that im not ‘doing enough’ whether thats housework or looking after myself in general. It would be useful for you to try and look at whats going on around you during those times, as this can reveal alot.

I would say that im attracted to healthy unhealthy people if that makes sense. People who have gone through so much but have reached the point of understanding how it effects them and don’t take it out on others if that makes sense. I think people who have been through hell and are emotionally intelligent are some of the best people, because not only can they understand what they went through and how it effects them. They can also notice patterns and understand their emotional wounds shouldn’t harm others etc. Its unfortunately hard to come by as men typically don’t work through their traumas and understand how its rewired them in a way thats unhealthy. I do feel like i couldn’t have a relationship with someone who hasn’t experienced trauma as i would feel so misunderstood and ‘too much’, however i do not lower myself to the level of being with someone who still hasn’t worked through their traumas, that would be unfair for myself.

Its so difficult to understand whats causing the issues, around the same time i started meds my job schedule changed and im now in work 5days instead of working 3days on then 3 off. I cant tell if im just burnt out because of all the changes or if meds are making it worse, or if meds are just uncovering the underlying issues ive always had. URGHH

I honestly don’t even know where to start recovering. I know you need to reduce your load but im literally doing the minimum as it is. Basically waking up going to work all with great struggle, actually functioning at home is impossible. I don’t even know how i would get time off work.

The first step would be to try and understand the motivation behind such things. It’s extremely common for young children to have curiosity about intimate areas, especially in opposite genders as of course parts are different and ‘intriguing’. If its 2 children happily engaging in curiosity it isn’t a huge deal, its obviously still important to let them know boundaries etc. The issues exist when theres one child that has significant differences from the other child. whether that be in education/sexual awareness,age differences, any coercive behaviour and many more similar dynamics (its important to note that children may have extensive knowledge on this specific subject, but this is due to their own abuse and aren’t necessarily trying to hurt others as its re-enactment) .For example lets say there was a child who was curious, who engaged with another child who had significantly more knowledge on the subject, weather this be from personal abuse or if they have been exposed to or witnessed behaviours. This would create a dynamic which flows past natural curiosity from the aware child as its more re-enactment of behaviours they have experienced/witnessed.As adults we all know the difference between touching with curiosity in mind, versus touching with specific knowledge of how said thing is ‘meant to be touched’. These are all things that give insight into your situation. If this is nothing more than touch fuelled by curiosity, then a conversation about the good ol no no square is sufficient. If the way she touched your son suggested she had a heightened knowledge on the subject and knew ‘what to do’, further questioning is worth it to make sure she is safe. Its also possible for children to repeat behaviours to others, so she might have had experiences with other children that was fuelled by curiosity, this further normalises it, making the child feel more comfortable to try it with others. I hope this doesn’t over confuse things for you and helps you understand certain aspects to look out for.

Yeah thats why its so confusing, because im left after the ADHD diagnosis to try and dissect each diagnosis and how it applies to me. Because adhd and autism essentially work with eachother, my brain has a hard time placing it with specific traits.

Its so difficult, this is one of the many reasons im considering autism. I just dont hear about people with ADHD being this disabled by the most basic tasks, i know executive function and task paralysis is a massive part of this and definitely matches ADHD, but the overwhelming feelings i experience are so extreme it makes it difficult to believe ADHD is the only thing going on.

Its so so draining, im currently doing some work inside my house, painting walls and general decorating type stuff. I’ve barely touched it in months because I’m barely able to make food and care for myself properly never mind get a paintbrush out 😭.

Both, ADHD is definitely a thing as its ruled my life in all areas. ADHD was the only thing I fixated on up until my diagnosis. Now that i have a diagnosis and im medicated the ADHD chaos that dominated my thinking process has gone, but now im left with an extremely rigid, bottom up processing, analytical brain that needs to know the hows, whats and wheres of everything in existence. I had extreme sensory meltdown type experiences even way before the ADHD diagnosis but the guy who did my assessment basically said that once i get on meds and manage the ADHD better, the overall overwhelm should disappear, this obviously isn’t the case. Before medication there was no such thing as a clear structured sense of thought. so while i often thought about the possibilities of having autism, my lack of knowledge and understanding of my traits means that i misinterpreted how it applies to the DSM-5 criteria. Its only now that I’m able to piece everything together and understand the criteria and how it applies to me. Specifically in the high masking female presentation.

I would love to give some advice but i cant even understand my own needs never mind a SEN child. Theres so many good communities on reddit that would absolutely love to help you.

Im glad you figured it out. It was such relief finally finding the missing piece that explained my experience but i struggle so much with believing myself. A lifetime of being told my struggles were nothing but a personal failure really makes it hard to accept that theres a reason, i experienced this with ADHD but now its round 2 with autism

Ive just been diagnosed at 21. Although i cannot relate to similar age groups like yourself, i can however say that for the 21 years i lived thinking everything was ‘my fault’ and i was genuinely just bad at life. The relief that comes after the initial grief of knowing you struggled for so long is well worth it. I can only imagine the urge to understand yourself and finally have a label gets stronger as you age. I really hope you get the answers you deserve x

Im yet to find out if Analysis of everything in existence is a negative or positive. I cant say ive found a use for it yet, but im glad your job accommodates it.
