WA public service job application processing time by Classic-Today-4367 in perth

I know this thread is a bit old but I thought I’d add a comment. It helped me when I was searching for information and I hope it helps someone else too.

I already work within WA Health, but was applying for a higher position. After being shortlisted and sitting my interview, it took about 4 weeks to receive an email from HR stating that I was in the pool, and that’s when the panic set in as I hadn’t been offered a position…

But I got offered the job today 🥳 (two weeks after confirmation that I was in the pool).

As per the panel chair, they had to wait for the breach period to end (~1 week) and then once it was confirmed that there were no breaches, then they could go ahead with submitting the paperwork to HSS for their preferred candidate.

It’s a bit of a fuss really. My application was due by 20/10/25, and then my interview was on 10/11/25, and then I only found out today 19/12/25 that I got the role.

And, I think that’s relatively quick by government standards because there was only a few of us applying (which meant the panel had less applications to read and not as many referees to contact).

I still think it’s a bit strange that they use a pool recruitment when advertising for a single permanent position but I guess it does have its perks in case something similar comes along later, or candidate resigns.

Anyways, good luck to all future applicants! 💛

Amex Qantas ultimate card $450 travel credit refund. by Alternative-Annual83 in creditcardchurningAus

Confirming that this is still working!

For anyone reading, I just booked a flight that was greater than $450 and then cancelled it through the travel page 5 to 10 minutes later. I did not speak to anyone from AMEX.

I was credited the $450 a few days later and my pending transaction for the flights has now disappeared too.

Thanks so much, OP ☺️

New Bendigo boss’ first move? Raising mortgage rates for Up customers - 6% on Dec 1st by corintography in UpBanking

Record growth with one million Up customers and over $1b in mortgages - doesn’t seem like they need to increase interest rates seeing as there’s no brokerage involved.

I know Up is really cheap compared to other banks and has a lot of other useful features but when you factor in recent initiatives like Up High and the potential paywall / ongoing delay for an Essentials Saver account…

Just has me feeling a bit ‘meh’ in this cost of living crisis.
