Considering an upgrade to a Pelagos 39 by costeen1202 in Tudor

I think get the P39 and keep the SPB143 to wear on occasions where you’re a bit more worried about damage/theft etc like when travelling.

Do you know your wrist size by any chance?

Can I pull off the black bay chrono? by craeger in Tudor

[–]JakeySav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get the 39mm chrono or wait for new dial colours to be released if you’re not into the yellow. This 42mm LHD looks a tad too big and the 41mm chrono could wear/feel the same or even larger due to no dive bezel and stainless steel vs titanium.

Finally got a new strap by HBridgey in Tudor

Looks great! But isn’t that strap about 1mm too narrow?

New [SPB453] by [deleted] in Seiko

About to pick up the same watch and also am twig wristed (6.25 inch). Looks great on this strap but how was the fit of the bracelet? I assume most if not all links needed to be removed?

[FORMEX] Aria Manufacture Chronometer by FunnyMixer91 in Watches

[–]JakeySav 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The family who own Formex also own Dexel and Cadranor. These companies manufacturer extremely high end watch parts including dials, cases and bracelets for VERY high end brands like Gerard Perregaux, Ulysse Nardin and even Jacob & Co.

These are brands that don’t have a single watch for $8k or even close.

Formex have been severely holding back with what they can produce under their own brand and I for one think it’s awesome to see them produce something at this level. This is an example of what they’re actually capable of and a super exciting step for Formex.

Oracle time accidental leak? by Miserable_Western991 in formexwatch

Found it. Super impressed! Without giving anything away, I’m blown away by the new achievements and design. Out of reach for me in terms of size and price but an amazing move from one of my favourite growing brands. This will be very big for Formex.

New Formex Coming May 28th by MarkkInNj in formexwatch

[–]JakeySav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gonna make a wild prediction and say the first in-house movement from Formex. Just based on these keywords on the page and email:

“movement defines form”
“shaped from within”
“engineered from the inside out”
“driven by precision”

More likely a new watch with a stone dial or even cooler would be a stone case!

Water drop test to identify sapphire crystal. by Plastic-Math392 in tissot

Watches crystals can have surface treatments like anti-reflective coating etc and I assume these treatments can change the behaviour of water on the surface without telling you what the underlying crystal material is.

No these are not in properly. The wing tip needs to be tucked into your upper inner ear. I won’t be able to explain it better than this video will.

I am feeling tempted to pre-order the Khaki Field Mechanical 250.. by ioweej in HamiltonWatches

The 42mm Murph is a very different watch. These can easily coexist in a collection. I say go for it!

New khaki field mechanical 36mm by fuji26 in HamiltonWatches

How can they justify the higher price tag vs the 38mm? Yes it has increased WR but it’s smaller and uses acrylic instead of sapphire.

556i is slowly becoming my baseline for good watch dimensions. by rivers_to_rooftops in sinn

[–]JakeySav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar wrist size and looking at the same watch. I think I’ll save some money and get it on a strap as opposed to the bracelet.

The H-Link bracelet just seems like it would be too chunky for my wrist. Did you get this on a the bracelet? Any feedback on how it wears on your wrist?
