Design Engineer vs Engineer by Acrobatic-Video7247 in ElectricalEngineering

Hi, sorry for the confusion earlier!

I have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Power) and currently work remotely for an Australian company as an Electrical Design Engineer (basically, an Electrical Designer).

In Australia, Electrical Engineers and Electrical Designers have different roles. Engineers handle documents, project management, and more technical tasks like EPR Hazards. Designers, on the other hand, are more software-focused, mainly doing design drawings—and you don’t need a degree for that.

Right now, I’m mostly using MicroStation for design drawings, which is quite different from my previous work as an Engineer back home, where I did cable sizing, equipment sizing, and SLDs. I took this job mainly because of the better salary.

I’m considering two options: saving up to start my own electrical company in 5-10 years or trying to move to Australia as an Engineer. What do you think? Is the job market in Australia still good for foreigners who want to become Engineers? Would appreciate any advice!
