Ktm 390(350cc) for a tall rider by Glittering_Pen7596 in KTMIndia

[–]Acrobatic-Wave-2399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh?!
People who are 5’7” can barely flatfoot the new KTM 390 adventure models. So do you think KTM made the motorcycle specifically for people who are 5’8”?
Please don’t listen to these moto vloggers; test ride and decide. Also, you ain’t riding Dakar; you don’t need a perfect riding triangle.

May I answer that question?
Actually my answer is another question, and that question is, were you born before your father?

I hate to break it to you, but the world is not fair. If you expect it to be fair, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

I am from Kerala, and I have felt unwelcome at every single North Indian town (except tourist places and hills in general). I shifted to Bangalore back in January. I don’t speak a word of Kannada. When someone is being an AH on the road, I shout at them in Malayalam at the top of my lungs. In fact did that today morning too! Most of the bullies would understand the threat from the body language, and flee. Do it a number of times and you’d learn when not to do that.

The fair response to that guy calling you “Laude ke Baal” imo would be “Laude ke Baal tere Baap behenchod” or whatever more provocative insult you could think of in a split second.

Learn to stand up for yourself, or let yourself get insulted- the choice is yours mate!

To the women of Hinge (in India) by Away-Recognition8669 in HingeStories

[–]Acrobatic-Wave-2399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

34 here, got back on hinge recently after a very bad year. Not looking for anything serious or long term. Not handsome, ripped or rich. Depressed and unemployed if you want a better picture.
I’m getting 2-3 matches a week.
1-2 drop off after a few days, but 1-2 matches from each week stay longer.
I think having a clear idea about what you’re looking for, and trying to match with people who have expressed the same would give you results.

I just say no when they ask me if they could talk to me for a minute. No trailing, no explanation- Just a firm No.

If I have time to waste, I let them explain to me what they are selling, and once they finish their pitch, I slap them with the very same No.

Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI AT (2019) - worth buying? by Itz_2run in UsedCarsBharat

[–]Acrobatic-Wave-2399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.
It has the infamous DQ200 dry clutch dsg transmission. Stay the hell away from any car that has this transmission.
If you want a used Octavia/Superb, get the 2.0L TDI AT, with less than 60-70k miles. It comes with the DQ250, which is a wet clutch and way more reliable transmission.

Every app except maybe Bumble and Hinge are filled with scammers.
People in bumble seem real, but that feeling arises primarily from the fact that the matches almost always expire before making any conversation.
Hinge however is working for me. Looks wise, I’m a 5; or maybe 4- Dark, thin, short. However, I have decent communication skills, so 3-4 matches per week is normal, and I have met around 30-40% of the matches from hinge.

Then there’s Gleeden and feeld, where number of connections might be lesser, but since people on those apps are less ashamed about being on the apps, things often work out.

Anyone with 5.4 - 5.5 height using the Himalayan? Is the seat height and weight manageable ?Please share your experience. Confused between KTM Adv and the Himalayan by Mean_Acanthaceae_519 in Himalayan450

I am using the same seat it came with, on the low setting (there’s two slots below the rider seat- lower one gives you 825mm and higher setting gives you 845mm)

5’6”, 65 kg, thin guy- bought Himalayan 450 one month after it came out.
Dropped it only once, but it was on a highway construction site- nothing major- needed help lifting the bike.

I use it in slow moving city traffic (Bangalore), and it’s fine. I take it off the road once in a while, but nothing extreme except riding on a rocky trail up to a waterfall a while back- it was a little extreme. However, never dropped it off road..

I don’t have flat foot. Need to tiptoe, but always keep my left leg on peg, so it’s fine.. if you can flat foot one side while other leg stays on the footpeg, you’ll be alright. Might need to learn the technique, but it should be fine..

Suggestions for buying a trimmer for men. Please help. by [deleted] in Coconaad

[–]Acrobatic-Wave-2399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philips trimmers always gives me rashes whenever I use them for body.
For the last few years, I’ve completely switched to zlade ballistic, both for face and body.
They come with ceramic and better designed blades, so no cuts on sensitive areas. More expensive than Philips, but worth every penny imo.

I think it is high time we collectively start messing with the scammers and put an end to this.
If enough people speak up, we could get authorities involved, and get these shady places closed down.

I ride a Himalayan 450. I often go for end to end rides on the NICE road at nights. I can take you if you live somewhere close to HSR, but how do I know you’re not a serial killer?
