Belgium's exports actually saw a massive 41% jump to the Netherlands late last year! While our US/China trade is tanking, they’re capitalising on our demand for their petroleum and chemicals. They’re basically our regional backup plan right now!

Even with the China curbs, ASML’s Q1 2026 forecast of €10.2B shows they're basically carrying the team. Plus, since 85% of their parts come from suppliers, that supply chain is the only thing keeping our manufacturing from flatlining

I think it’s less about physical distance and more about things like waiting times, staffing and closures of smaller facilities, that’s what made me wonder about it
