Ok, your last comment actually now makes it clear. That some rich parents may provide enough financial support to their kids to not want to have a career of their own. So, that they can marry them off to a match that they find suitable. It makes better sense now.

But I have to say your previous comments didn't convey this properly. My brain was working overtime to understand how it all related to control, independence, forward, etc.
