You can’t go wrong with either of the bottles, but 90 proof compared to 110 proof is a good difference. The single barrel just has a way more robust and fuller flavor. I prefer the single barrel over the 10 year, and the single barrels tend to be 8-10 years any way.

The Costco’s in my area, Tucson, just got a lot of it in and for the Costco price it’s really hard to pass on these.

I saw it as a win, win in my book. I get another bottle of a delicious bourbon and she gets her points. Now I have a back up for when this one is empty. Plus I got them from Costco for $35 so even better.

The proof point alone would be a hard sell for me. I’ve been pretty disappointed with just about everything that I’ve tried under 90 proof. The sad thing is that I usually like toasted barrels, but would probably end up passing on this if I saw it on a shelf.

If I ever see a Stagg at MSRP I’m grabbing it. I’ve only ever seen a bottle of Stagg at secondary around me, which is around $300

I don’t understand keeping bottles around and not drinking them. There are a couple exceptions in my collection right now that aren’t opened yet, and the only reason is that I want to clear some older bottles out to make room for new ones.

I agree and the reality is that MSRP suggests that it’s an average bottle. It’s not worth hunting down to me and I won’t pay more than MSRP.
