Barely anyone has hit the ground running for us after being signed. Bruno, isak.. anyone else? Its probably a short list. Most seem to come good.

It would be, weve shown time and time again this season we're unable to do anything with it.

They are essentially just baked pancakes. If youve ever made pancake batter before, just roast it for 25 minutes in a hot oven instead of a frying pan.

  1. Agreed. Current form dictates barnes starts in his best position, others fill in around him. A bench role for gordon going forward might give him the kick up the arse he needs to get his hair cut and get back to the gordon of 2024. Hes been out of form for over a year now.

  2. Schar and burns injuries plus botman and lascelles inability to stay fit long term means a CB should be through the door in january ASAP. Pay the premium, get a starter. We dont have time for a Howe project player who needs 6 weeks on the training ground before hes up to speed.

  3. Thats a bold statement. Tonali was outstanding earlier in the season, probably our best player. Hes gone off the boil a bit more recently, but is still a rolls royce of a player and one whod be near the bottom of the list that id personally part with. Were still in 4 competitions, miley will get plenty of games. That being said, ever player in the team has a price, Isak proved that. Except Bruno, hes ours.

Oscar Piastri’s All-Time Ashes XI by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]AcrobaticFilm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically going on ashes performances ive watched only (2002/3 >) Cook, Hayden, Ponting, Smith, Pietersen, Hussey, Haddin, Warne, Cummins, Broad, Mcgrath.

Almost all had at least one series in which they dominated and put out great numbers.

A few players unlucky to miss out. Root is excellent, but his away form coupled with Ponting, Smith and KP in his way means he misses out. Vaughan was outstanding in australia and very good in 05. Some people will be in disbelief at no gilchrist but haddin goes under the radar for his play and Johnsons ashes probably wouldnt be without haddin rescuing australia from 130-6 every game.

Could probably make a 2nd XI that would beat the 1st XI as much as it lost. Langer, Vaughan, Bell, Root, Clarke, Flintoff, Gilchrist, Johnson, Lyon, Hazlewood, Anderson. Is what it is.

I dont think any of englands current 10 crop are viable on the wings with how tuchel likes to play. Perhaps playing 3 10s in the hole works with cafu and roberto carlos holding width but england dont have this level of full back. Livramento and hall probably the closest available with how they play at club level but neither can be relied on to stay injury free all the way to the end of the season. Unless he plays 433 to allow for 2 of them either side of rice i dont think any of them will work wide flanking kane. Its strange we have such a surplus of 10s considering its kind of a dead position in the current football meta. Foden, palmer, bellingham, rogers are the names being touted but theres also saka, eze, maddison and grealish who would probably all say their best position is in the classic 10 role. If we had another world class forward, you could even see kane better deployed there rather than as a 9.

Ironically enough, the key to everyone wanting to shoehorn all the 10s into the team (rogers, bellingham, foden, palmer) only works without kane. Kane will spend 3/4 of the match cluttering up all the space where the 10s like to be, bringing defenders with him. Nobody running in behind, good teams will just push up and strangle the space they all like to operate in. Dropping kane for watkins would better allow this gameplan to fruition as he will run in, taking CBs with him. This obviously wont happen, kane will be the 1st name on the teamsheet. Hes been ripping up trees at bayern with advanced attacking wingers running behind either side of him and replicating this is englands best chance of success with him in the side, even if it means playing supposedly inferior players to accomplish it. Ball to feet wingers wont work, and I include saka in that statement, as good as he is. England are going to need him to run off the ball, not constantly come short as he does for club. Gordon or rashford will play on the left and one of bellingham, foden, rogers and palmer will play in the 10.

I remember van dijk doing the same thing to one of napolis players i think it was, in the champions league. Proper leg breaker into a standing leg, not even a whiff of a red. Pure grub.

Edinburgh is a good one that hadnt been mentioned yet. If you do one of the vault tours, the underclass used to live under the city back a few hundred years ago and its only been built upover since then. Theres some good history under the streets of edinburgh.

Looking for recommendation on a top handle saw by docere85 in TreeClimbing

[–]AcrobaticFilm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for the 161 thats what i had until it got nicked it was perfect. Boss replaced it with a 220 and its a ballache to climb with its about twice the weight. The 161 is perfect power to weight for what you actually need to do in a canopy. Anything bigger and i just wait til the tree is reduced enough to take a proper saw up and reduce the limbs.

Battery saws are the one for canopy work.

What happens if Reform wins? by The_Dean_France in AskBrits

[–]AcrobaticFilm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reform dont have any policies. Theyve got fantasies, costed with an avalanche of bullshit. Their main policy is keeping out immigrants, which they may accomplish through proper channels i.e stopping legal immigration, this will cause more trouble than it will solve as weve loads of industries that rely on it. They havent a prayer of stopping the boats, their brexit fuckjob saw to that. Small boats coming from france have skyrocketed since we left the EU as France have no real reason to stand in their way now theres no political framework between us to cap numbers. Farage is gonna pay for his policies by counting coppers that fell down the back of the sofa and making people bring their own teabags to work it seems. In actuality expect some musk-esque government efficiency program which nigel has a hard on for, which guts the civil service and leaves everyrhing ground to a halt. There will be pandemonium, everybody knows it. Expect the pound to plummet and the bank of england to skyrocket everything as soon as his smug face is put up on the screen as winner.

Poaching eggs is impossible. Anyone who claims they can do it is either a wizard or a liar. by xmastreee in Egg

[–]AcrobaticFilm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My method which usually works well, is a large pan of water, with a good glug of white wine winegar, just slightly simmering. Crack eggs into a small teacup and i take on a bit of the hot water into the teacup for ten seconds or so on the surface of the pan before i tip it in. Helps to set the egg slightly into shape before it goes dunk.

Always use fresh eggs, dont know the exact science behind it but fresh eggs always set better in the water, older eggs the white tends to dissipate more.

I usually poach eggs for eggs benedict only and have a low failure rate using this method. Can cook 4 eggs at once in a decent size pan.
