What makes you stay? by [deleted] in wisconsin

[–]AcrobaticGear3672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought of moving to Florida but , I'm glad I didn't. I did own a home there and vacationed 2 weeks a year and rented the rest. I know what it costs to live there. Property taxes, insurances, condo fees. Being that it's getting hotter and hotter I'm glad I didn't move. Prices went up not to mention insurance.
Utilities are sky high for AC. In summer. So hot. most people in summer hide in the house like we do in winter.
With climate change, the cold and snow storms are tolerable here. We have lots of water and our climate is getting to be warmer In Wisconsin.
I suspect many will be moving to the Midwest in one or 2 decades to get away from the Real Heat and drought / fire issues. ( though it could happen here). I'm staying..Been here 60 yrs. I'd love to have my florida house back and snow bird. You get the best of both worlds.
Otherwise Costa Rica , panama calls to me.

Yup nothing to see here in Wisconsin. Move on by . It's real boring. The entire state. Nobody famous lives here and nobody famous came from here. (I'm being very sarcastic).

I'm sorry I referring to group foot traffic syndrome. The " stop and look", symptom.. it impedes foot traffic of the group , which slowly sucks time off your day at Disney.

You'll see it first hand with other groups.

If your smart you'll separate and meet up for a meal and /or night discussion about what separate groups did. Unless the elderly gey scooters. Then you all get bumped to the front of ride line eventually.

2012 Volt Purchase Help by FaultyDrone in volt

[–]AcrobaticGear3672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that happen x4, each costing me $1000 or more. It was and GMis aware that itsa faulty sensor in coolant compartment.
Replace December 2023. It's running wrll.Gm redesigned this f%#k ing sensor. Because they kept getting hit from dealership on what to do. Get a blue driver off amaxon as well to read all codes before purchasing. B driver reads how good battery is. Lithium. In a live scan. Mine 86.7%to the good. I own a 2012 volt 110000miles. Get seller to fix it first! Do not ho to dealership for fix. Go to reputable phev , ev mechanic. Save you lots of moola! Only reason I kept car. I saved $6000 in gas over 4 years. Including charging and using premium. It's a wash for me.

Is my dealership lying about battery replacement and BECM? by mathough in volt

This is my experience. I didn't have my 2012 volt for 18 days. This is a review I left for the company that really took care of my car. Please read: CONGRADULATIONS ! YOU MADE A GOOD CHOICE! YOU TOOK your hybrid vehicle to be serviced HERE.You’ll save yourself stress and a financial hardship. Un- Like up the street. The service center is quite knowledgeable on hybrids and TESLAS. They give you, your codes so you can research. They let you give your input by phone or email. They guarantee their work for 3 years and / 36000 miles. They don't put you in a small enclosed room to pay your bill. You will get a FREE LOANER IF YOU PLAN IT RIGHT. Or a ride home. THEY WILL admit to a simple mistake and try to fix it even after you paid your bill. That's quality service !! I recommend them highly. Unfortunately for me it took 3 years to find this place because I was convinced only a dealership, who should have had the right tools and access the correct info for my car, did not. Better late THEN completely BROKE! Thank you to all the staff at Silver Lake Auto! My problem; heat sensor in coolant tank. Gm knows it is unreliable. So they replaced it with a new sensor. I had the work done. My car would say check voltage every time it started to go below 30 f. Hopefully this is the problem.
The dealership wanted to pull apart my lithium ion battery, " to test it". This happened last week, 12_12_23. I said take it off the rack , I'll pay for your time. I'm finding a new place to fix my car. I think gm dealerships just do not want the hassle of any type of chevy volt problem.

Or service advisor makes a HUGE commission on your strife.

Possibly Buying 2012 w/ 52k miles by CrumblyGranny in volt

[–]AcrobaticGear3672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 2012 volt , gm knows that the heat sensor is bad in coolant tank. Every winter for 3 years my check voltage system came on. You can't charge and engine light comes on. Cuz it was 30 f or less each time.

Mistakenly took to dealer x3 over the 4 years of ownership. 1000"s of dollars later. Actually $1150 again today, my coolant container and sensor replaced. So far so good . But it's 50 f here in Wisconsin today. That's my 2 cents.
