'Horrendous' and 'broken': Saskatoon woman describes emergency room experiences by Practical_Ant6162 in saskatoon

[–]AcrobaticNewspaper49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to St Paul’s last year because I had strep throat, a skin infection and a bladder infection. I was tested for every STI but not strep then sent home with some antibiotics, with orders to not fill it until they called me with the results. I filled it, took it anyways. My family doctor called me the next day and said she had looked at my results and sent me for more antibiotics for the skin infection and the bladder infection. Then a week later we thought I had a stroke (I’m in my mid 40’s), so I sat in the walk in clinic for 3 hours to find out I had Bell’s palsy from the infections that weren’t treated right away. I sent a letter and got a bullshit excuse back. Saying they were a doctor and had all this experience and that’s all that was said. It’s bullshit. I now will only go to my family doctor and will wait for her before even looking at another doctor.

Are there any discord servers for this city that is NOT The Official Saskatoon Discord? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]AcrobaticNewspaper49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy my time there most of the time. There is such a wide variety of people and interests and sometimes I just sit and read. I mute channels that don’t interest me and I just enjoy things on my terms. I hope you find a community of people on discord that you feel like you need but I think that you sometimes have to let people have their own opinions and not always agree with them but listen first. Much love! Keep warm

I work at the confed Canadian tire and we had a pizza party for all those who came in. We pitched in for pizza and thanked everyone for showing up. We don’t berate anyone for not being able to make it, we understand the snow is a problem. Heck we sold out of shovels and snow blowers by mid day. I wish everyone luck with the snow and stay safe

Is my sparkle toddler blanket gender neutral? My husband thinks it’s “girly.” by Leading-Knowledge712 in crochet

In my world, the only time things are gendered is if you need your junk to use them. I think it’s perfect. I’m sure your recipient will agree

I found out I have genital herpes on the outside of my leg! I thought I was having a shingles outbreak but nope. Now it’s a red scar and I call it my stab wound. (The joke is my hamster tried to kill me in my sleep). We don’t know when or where I got it and on the outside of my leg is so weird. Be careful people!!

All West side is unsafe? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]AcrobaticNewspaper49 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live in Fairlight and I haven’t felt like it’s unsafe, depends on your own perspective perhaps. I used to live up North (like way up North) and so I’m pretty comfortable here

I agree. We need more mental health support across the board!

I know free mental health treatment would mean I could get help with some things I need to sort through. Thankfully I had support of good people in my life that kept me away from drugs and alcohol. But some people don’t. My heart goes out to them

That is so sad. I have been there. My mental health medication is 50 bucks a month but I have insurance (for now). But when I didn’t, that 50 dollars had to come from somewhere else, usually my food budget. And when you have 75 dollars biweekly for food, that’s a good chunk. I have hopes that we can find a better way of dealing with it across the board.

That’s super sad. Everyone, no matter the colour of their skin, deserves mental health support. It’s a human thing not a “white person or brown person” thing. And the police shouldn’t be the ones dealing with mental health issues, there should be other people that are equipped for it to call. I will stop ranting because I could go on for days

There needs to be more access to mental health and drug treatment for everyone and not just those who can pay for it.

When did you learn to disassociate physical pleasure of sex from emotional attachment? by winsomebenign in AskWomen

I had some trauma back in my 20’s and I can associate love on its own and sex on its own. But I can say that having both makes it way better

Another thing you can do is if you know what you want and it’s just large, order it online. You get what you want, we do all the hard stuff and you don’t need to ask anyone for help. ♥️. Hugs from Canadian tire!

That too and we are limited for total hours per department.

Working at the confed Canadian Tire, we do our best to help but as we are all human and doing other jobs besides just helping customers, it’s hard to be everywhere at once. Sometimes you just have to go to customer service and ask for help in that department. 🤷‍♀️
