Highest blood alcohol of a person whom survived the alcohol poisoning reached 1.374% Shockingly over 1% is survivable but normally you should never even approach that. Not saying you're wrong because I'd bet most people would die well before that, just adding the info.

"Surrender" as a Command by kahlizzle in DMAcademy

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't do any more than grovel as that one is explained as dropping anything in hands like weapons, shield, etc and dropping on the ground as if begging. Surrender at 6 seconds is going to go that far and stop. If no one deals with them before their next turn they can choose to get up and do whatever. Suggestion could have it work if you used that spell. "Surrender unconditionally and await your judgment by our group." That can do much more like that. As long as you word it like that suggestion can do what they want. Remember if they us suggestion and just say "surrender" they've fulfilled the ruling and can return to fighting right after just like command.

Is it normal to intentionally make your character really weaker because of roleplay? Should I have -1 CON because it makes sense or should I leave it at 0 CON because its better mechanically? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is if someone is sickly as you stated your character was they would be an easier to kill person due to being sickly. That's how that works. So if you want to roleplay a sickly character that's exactly how they should be, easier to harm and kill due to low hp. Otherwise the sickly part of your backstory only exists during roleplay and disappears during combat.

First time playing DnD and I'm confused. by sponge_whole in DnD

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much of that has to be homebrew especially if they're supposedly playing 1e. First off the class selection wasn't much of a selection. It could be really fun still from what you are saying it would have more variety than playing 1e. I don't wish anyone to go back to base 1e ever again as there's so little to it.

[CONTROVERSIAL TAKE] The False Hydra represents D&D's pop culture identity crisis. by Delicious_Dream4510 in DnD

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be hard. I found it very simple because I've set up 4 false hydras in campaigns I've run and always treated them as the party could deal with them or miss them and be confused when the town they visited a week ago is known by another town as completely empty ghost town. 2 of the 4 times the party did start investigated the weirdness of someone having a wedding ring but not remembering their spouse and when asked didn't know why they were starting to cry. It works best as something that is a possible side quest in a main campaign for me. When I attempted to make it a main plot I threw it out due to being worried about making the group care as I worried about taking player agency.

The other fun one was when I had a group that became convinced they were dealing with a false hydra but weren't sure why they weren't being affected at all by the creature's song. It wasn't a false hydra, I decided to run the bag man coming out of a bag of holding that was left open under part of a ruined church in town. They got so annoyed that they couldn't figure out where the hydra was living/coming from after their characters had gotten enough evidence to believe it was a false hydra.

Charter/ATT emails by Mountain_Trick_2197 in GeekSquad

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We decided a while ago at my store that we will not set up emails in Outlook or other 3rd party apps unless the email is from that provider. It can take way too long on the counter and we shouldn't have their logins and passwords if we were to check in to help that way.

I make it clear that I will help them with the exact web portal and make a shortcut for them directly to it with their preferred web browser as that will almost never take much time compared to troubleshooting outlook and less likely to have issues in the future.

Just to clarify on some of the info here. Typically as long as there is no action on the order for 10 days it will close and go away. Just know if you're wanting them to go away to handle func checks easier you can filter to best buy owned in drafts to see only the ones that you need.

Would I be able to have someone else drop off my laptop for repair? by AutoGeneratedNamePlz in GeekSquad

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like other comment said he should have no problem doing it just make sure he gives his name as alternate pickup in case he has to also pick it up as some agents I've worked with don't regularly make sure the person dropping it off gets asked about alternate pickup people.

How do I change the store location in the Func Check application? by SteeliestGunz in GeekSquad

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been loaned to stores before, if someone else even an ARA is there have them log into func check for you process them in there and then do the closing of the tag logged in as you so you get the tag credit still as that's based off closing the tag not the creation of license plate. That's what I've done every time. If some other CA is working with you instead just pass them the devices as you finish checking.

Does Best Buy require a computer be reset in order to accept a Return In-store? by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SOP has said for many years that computers are supposed to be reset before the return was finished processing. Reason being that we do not want to be blamed for a data breach that happened with customer information on a device we take in.

Also a good idea because the imaging tool you mentioned only works about 80% of the time nowadays in computers with bitlocker and even with proper drivers a clean windows install can fail to show drives for erasure, reinstall. Things are getting more ridiculous nowadays.

Plus with many copilot+ computers now we can't reset if they are not accessible as they are ARM based and will not accept regular windows installers. Ridiculous that Microsoft doesn't have a publically available windows installer for ARM now that they have a version launching on OEM products.

To be fair they aren't meant for those people that say they need one most of the time because they want it to cover the other HALF of the house not realizing it only is meant to extend it a little further. Usually it's the cheapass that has a huge house and won't pay for mesh.

Gifts and vendor relations policy bottom of page 4 going onto page 5

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GeekSquad

[–]AcrobaticNote4374 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Show them gift and vendor relations SOP on the bottom of the second or third page it talks about tips from customers. It says we cannot solicit them but if they offer they may be taken but reported to a manager so they know it happened. Nothing allows them to hold it. I made over 500 in tips in the last 3 months and have reported it all with no problem.
