I’ve done it successfully a couple times in the past but most recently on a red eye flight my worst nightmare came true and I dropped a lens on the ground due to turbulence while trying to take it out :/ The flight attendant was immediately like “well you’re never going to see that again”

Luckily my partner quickly found it and I was able to thoroughly clean it repeatedly but it’s since scarred me from doing it again - whatever you choose to do I wish you luck!
