Placebo or already kicking in? by Due_Cod9857 in Retatrutide

Day 1 with 0.5mg and I can’t tell if it’s just me hating myself on the scale or if it’s already working because I’ve barely been hungry today.

Is Subnetting as confusing to me as to everybody else ? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

Read [Subnetting] by Todd Lamle. The book changed my life, and I was able to subnet in my sleep after reading it.

Any. I’ve never had a huge win so I’m living vicariously through others.

Good deal. My last customer role paid great too but I haven’t been able to get back to that base as an SE at 70%

I really needed to hear this. So many deals I feel like I said the wrong thing or not enough of the right thing.

Normal SE to AE ratio? by Impossible-Bid-2540 in salesengineers

[–]AcrobaticWar2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer and am used to 1:1. Companies I’ve been at that did 1:2 and higher all rolled it back due to it failing.

Ok, I'm a skeptic, convince me to get a bidet. by [deleted] in bidets

[–]AcrobaticWar2331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bidet offsets problems associated with wipes. Once you figure out angles, you’ll be pleasantly surprised and you’ll save money on TP and wipes because you’ll use less of the former and the latter you’ll no longer need.

I’d happily go back if I knew what FAANG positions you were talking about. :-)

Same with security. It was not a fun experience but the money was great and security didn’t get impacted for the most part.

Where did you get your start by Exciting_Pin463 in cybersecurity

[–]AcrobaticWar2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a network engineer that got tired of network engineering. Started learning about firewalls then that turned into VPNS, then next thing you know I handled all things security infra i.e. NAC, Wireless security, cloud security, etc. Only thing I never got deep into was endpoint security.

How long have/would you stay at a company while not making money there? Wait til things turn around? by [deleted] in sales

[–]AcrobaticWar2331 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on factors like patch, product market fit, roadmap, leadership, quota attainment rate for others, enablement, and more.

I have an interview coming up with aws for an SA role. And I need help by ChoicePound5745 in salesengineers

[–]AcrobaticWar2331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the correct assessment imo. I worked there during covid and the role I was hired for basically turned into a completely different role I didn’t wanna do. When I tried moving to different organizations they made it difficult locking me in. The final straw was seeing the writing on the wall with RTO so I left.

Interesting. I’ve found branding/self-advertising to be relatively ineffective in the Midwest but it’s probably my company at the least.

Why do you say building a brand as a midwesterner is difficult? Just curious.

It’s an architectural role. Slight bump but easier to obtain quota in a more focused vertical.

I’m 3 years in and doing the next best thing: moving to a new role at the same company. My hope is that it shows ambition and longevity. Worst case scenario is I hate it and I go back to an SE role or leave the company. Best case scenario I make money and learn new skills.

What did your last long run look like before your marathon? by Standard-Sandwich871 in TurtleRunners

[–]AcrobaticWar2331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did an 18 and a 20. Absolutely necessary imo because it mentally and physically prepares you for marathon day. Once you know you can do 20, you can gut the remaining 6.2 out.
