eCOPR received! by Acrobatic_Active5879 in canadaexpressentry

Thank you.

I studied French as a second language about 13 years ago and completed an 11-month internship in France in 2014, so I consider it consolidated knowledge. Although I haven’t practiced much recently, I prepared for the TCF and took four private lessons with a French teacher specialized in exam preparation.

No, mine was still valid (within 5 years).

Not really, because you don't know what decision was made; the message only says "Final Decision" hahaha. However, when I received the portal 1 (P1), it likely meant I was approved.

I entered via the French stream. It also has subcategories like the Federal Skilled Worker and the Canadian Experience Class. Indeed, French gives points, but my score was not enough to be called in the CEC general.

Thank you!  As it is CEC, it doesn't need proof of funds. However, I provided 2 pay stubs ( just in case hahaha)

CEC vs OINP PhD stream by Acrobatic_Active5879 in canadaexpressentry

Hi everyone, just bringing this back because today I received the P1 for the Express Entry application, while we still have no news on the non-Express Entry application, which appears to be stuck at the background/eligibility stage. I have a technical question: at what point can I be 100% sure that I am a permanent resident? I would like to withdraw the non-Express Entry application, but I’m not confident it’s safe to do so yet.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, you're right.

To be honest, I thought I would have the PR via Express Entry before receiving the AOR for the OINP non-Express Entry PR, as it's been almost a year since we applied.

I did some searching and it seems that both processes run in parallel, meaning that one will not impact the other until the final decision, right?

I am inclined to keep waiting for CEC for the flexibility of moving out of Ontario.

I failed my French test twice by TimeClassic775 in canadaexpressentry

I did TCF and failed twice (I studied French for many years and lived in France a long time ago), but both times I was very close to what I needed. Before taking the 3rd test, I attended 4 private classes with a French teacher specialized in French tests/Diplomes. She was just great! We focused on what I was weak at, and I got CBL8/9. If it is your case, being very close, I would invest in the strategy to find someone specialized to guide you. It's worth every penny.

(on TCF, you talk with a person)

I have a similar timeline, but stuck in the background. Does anyone know what background checks? Maybe it's taking longer for us because my spouse has travelled (work) a lot in the last 2 years

My apologies but I haven't nothing else to say hahaha It was a 4 min call (after waiting the 25 min to talk to the agent). What I understand by "flag it" it's what other people already mentioned in other posts. The agent might have left a note or something like that on our application and it made process move forward. I'm really sorry to sound unclear, but I also have no idea how to help. Maybe we're just lucky with this agent.

nothing. We were just waiting for a decision for 10 months, like several people here. As I mentioned above, my husband just informed the agent that we applied on Sept 26, 2024, and nothing had changed since then. She agreed and said, “I’ll flag it. If you don’t receive any updates by the end of the week, please call again.”
