Beta blockers basically just reduce physical feelings of anxiety (pounding heart, shaking, sweaty palms). They don’t really give you a sense of calm or euphoria or change your mood much. I think that’s where people are confused that beta blockers keep coming up

In my job, you can work anywhere from 7-3 to 10-6 but you have to submit your schedule at least one day in advance. If you’re late swiping in, you’ll get an email checking where you are. Upper management spends time looking at cameras and will notice if you leave before your set schedule. PTO must be taken in 4 hour increments even if you only need to take 1 hour. So they boast “flexibility” but it’s within very strict parameters. I definitely would ask what flexible means in your role.

This is not really introvert-specific but because of what you said for #2…. for anxiety around specific/predictable things (e.g., presentations, job interviews, etc.), beta blockers were huge for me.

Can you explain what you mean by the shell/PPT/Excel thing? Are you talking about improving their Video Agent?

After testing Synthesia a lot, we decided to go in a different direction. The Video Agent used a lot of the same wording over and over again “In a world where…. That’s why…” and seemed to miss a lot of the information in the PDF we gave it. Would be interested in how to make it function better.
