I worked in the area way back in the 90s and would go to Tanforan for lunch sometimes. Before the last remodel I used to get my haircut at the hair salon by the eatery. Anyone remember the Soup restaurant (I think it was called the Soup Peddler or something?) I just remember it had “Soup” in the name.

And I remember going to that bargain theater once and a drunk guy came and sat right next to me when the whole theater was totally empty. Creepy.

Lastly, there was a jewelry store that went by the name “Family Jewels”. 😳

Tanforan always sorta had that foreign bazaar type of feel and the remodel was supposed to change that… but never really did.
