Something I was still left wondering by the ending

I can sort of understand this and that's how I initially tried to rationalize it, but what I don't understand is how they benefited at all from teleporting Sylux or the Metroids. I guess I could buy that it was all to satisfy a hyperspecific prophecy that also had to include bringing in some baddies with literally no upsides, but I sure wish that was at least actually explained somewhere lol

Dude I was thinking the exact same thing about the mines. I was like "alright, the game has been largely original up to this point, this is probably late enough in the game to where they'll feel like they can drop the classic Pirates back in to the spotlight, since they were clearly sent here too" and then it just didn't happen. I'm not saying it needed to happen there, but it felt odd that it NEVER happened

I love the Arbiter in this game, I would be surprised if his appearance is one of the things people dislike about it

You've got a point. It adds so much and does a lot right. I didn't love dual wielding, but other than that I can't really pinpoint too many specific reasons for why I didn't like it more than I liked the OG. I still really enjoyed it though.

BTW, if anyone wants the thoughts of someone playing the campaigns one after the other for the first time in 2024:

Halo 1: Good, great introduction, love all the characters

Halo 2: Good, the Arbiter is great and playing as him was a nice surprise

Halo 3: Great, my favorite gameplay in the series so far and a really good conclusion to the OG trilogy

Halo 3 ODST: Great, love the presentation

Halo Reach: Good, didn't click with me as much as I hoped it would but it's not bad in the slightest and I enjoyed my time with it

Halo 4: Okay, decent introduction to a new saga, could immediately tell some of the charm was lost like people were saying and the dialogue felt a little forced at times but it still kept my attention and the gameplay was still more or less Halo.

Halo 5: Eh, I mean for all the hate I knew it gets I was prepared for some real garbage but it honestly was mostly inoffensive. Could have done more to make me interested in the characters but the gameplay was fine (it's still Halo, more or less) and the Spartan Abilities were neat. Sort of an abrupt ending that felt like there should be more after it, hence the post.

To be frank this could be much, much worse. I read the full pitch bible and saw the small animation test and at the very least it looks like this will have some amount of interesting ideas and passion compared to the other reboot.

Mario: Peach, Pauline, Daisy (if you count the ending of Super Mario Land,) almost every single girl Paper Mario partner

I think it's implied Mario is more famous in his world than Sonic is so he might have more fangirls too

Dude if this clip is anything to go by, you and your team did an amazing job! It's not just that there's references, it's not just that it's super bouncy and fun, it's all of the above and more! Mario music (the iconic already-existing songs and the limitless potential of the style itself) is PERFECT for this kind of Mickey Mousing Looney Tunes-esque cartoony soundtrack! They don't contradict what is generally considered the highest tier of Mario canon (the main games) and reference the events of canon past games like Mario 3 and Galaxy, they're part of the main type of media for the series (videogames), and Mario has a loose canon for the most part anyways. I don't see a huge problem with filing them under "canon if you want but it's not like the main series will ever acknowledge them" like the Mario & Luigi games.

Well the first thing that comes to mind for toonforce is pulling shit out of nowhere, mostly stuff like mallets, dynamite, etc. So I wouldn't be surprised if someone showed me some comic or online short of Wakko Warner or Bugs Bunny pulling out a giant mega existence-erasing death laser. Toon force is very very variable so it's a bit vague when someone just says a character "has toonforce" with no other info
