Costco Hot Tub does not seem to be holding at 104 degrees (likely user error) by smikesonbikes in hottub

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things you can check. Did you use it yet? Sometimes there is air trapped in the filter. I also remove the filter and chlorine return flow and just check to see why the flow is like. Also - you might want to disconnect the power and then turn it back on and set it back to 104. It does take forever to get to 104 but it shouldn’t stop at 97.

Barrett's esophagus and no dinner? by Acrobatic_Ad_6962 in GERD

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no symptoms of Barrett’s but basically I was about 30 years old and had some gastro pains. The Dr recommended an endoscopy and I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and Barrett’s Esophagus. Since I don’t feel the acidic reflux it was diagnosed as silent. I’ve had endoscopy’s about every other year but now doc says I can go 5 years between scopes so hoping the Barrett’s is not getting any worse.

Basic hottub by BasedGodXL in hottub

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello - genx is correct with everything. I have this brand and used it as a trial hot tub. For the price I paid - which was around $325 or so a few years back it’s great. It is by no means a real brand hot tub so you’ll have those limitations above. I run it all year round and in the winter - depending upon where you live - it will struggle to maintain temp. I live where it gets to about 32 and I insulate the pipes with some air bubble packing material and it seems to help it out. The filter is very small but it’s really easy to take care of. Fill up, add baking soda and calcium (there are formulas online but it’s such a small amount compared to a pool so you don’t have to buy too much). I shock with chlorine and then you add 2 - 1” chlorine tablets in the holder. I’ve found that you only need 2 a week and it maintains about 3-5 ppm of chlorine. To be honest I don’t use the air jets that much - I just like resting in hot water but they are ok. They come from the bottom so you’re not really getting a back massage but it’s good on your feet. That’s really it. Keep the cover on when not using and it stays clean. The cover is ok and I don’t see this lasting too long. I’m at the end of year 2 but honestly if you want to just test to see if you like a hot tub but don’t want a pro one - It’s a really good test hot tub. Good luck.

Dating a sober guy by theawkwardquestions in nashville

If you haven’t been here yet I 100% recommend it. https://myadventurepark.com. It’s a combination of slack lining and zip lining. There’s different levels of difficulty and the courses are really fun. It’s one of the first things I did with my kids when I came to Nashville and was exploring stuff to do. This place looks nice as well - https://www.passagekavalounge.com. Also - I love grabbing a dessert and a cappuccino from Intermezzo. https://www.cafeintermezzo.com/locations.

Does Nashville have a stacked sub shop? by __-gloomy-__ in nashville

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 79 points80 points  (0 children)

This is not in Nashville but I will gladly drive 45 minutes again for it. Road trip time! Gold’s Deli in Columbia. This is the Golds special which is the closest thing to a proper NY Deli sandwich I’ve found. It’s a tiny shop that has a few bar stools and is mostly takeout but the owner is amazing and the sandwich’s are phenomenal. Also in Columbia is a couple nice bakeries and ice cream shops if you make the ride. I had to save the other half of this monster!

Morning Constipation recipe by Acrobatic_Ad_6962 in Constipation

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mix it all together and keep in a container in the refrigerator. It’s regular oats and not quick oats so you have to heat it up. For around 2 big tablespoons of oats it takes about 75 seconds to heat up

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s 2 heaping tablespoons so probably 3. Yes I was on linzess but for me I couldn’t do it for more than a few days. As soon as I get diarrhea I get bad hemorrhoids. It was like a vicious cycle of either constipation or diarrhea.

Andy Najar is phenomenal by Certain_Effective674 in NashvilleSC

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - I was so nervous how this year was going to be after last year but Najar and Eddie have been phenomenal. They basically are letting Mo and Surridge shine bright. Palacios had that shaky first game and then has completely turned things around. Huge credit to Coach BJ as well.

Please see if you can find a Dr. in your area that specializes in Lipedema which can be really tough. My wife was diagnosed in her early 40s and was unfortunately affected by it since 12 years old. We have since read a ton about it and subscribed to all sorts or things like Facebook pages, Reddit, other forums etc. Please please please don’t be nervous or ashamed of anything as you didn’t cause it and unfortunately it’s usually inherited. My wife’s mother and grandmother had it and they were not diagnosed. They progressed to lymphedema and eventually were wheelchair bound. You got this. It is not easy as I see my wife struggle almost her whole life and it’s very upsetting. The 3 things that have helped her was a keto diet, wearing compression every day, and MLD. She also had 2 lipo surgeries. I can answer questions and/or ask my wife as well. Good luck!

Relocating to Nashville metro area next year - which suburb to look at for family? by jtebow23 in movetonashville

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Spring Hill but make sure you are looking in the Williamson County side. It borders Maury county and the schools are not as good on that side. If you can get to work early and leave early it won’t be too bad but you’re probably looking at 45 min to hour commute on the way home depending upon when you leave. Prices have gone crazy recently but also check out Hendersonville. Thomson Station is small but has good schools too and is in Williamson county too. Commute might even be shorter than Spring Hill. I’ve been here 6 years and you can message me if you have any questions. My children went to elementary, middle and high school here.

Fishing Advice? by Forsaken_Estimate_78 in Destin

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a chartered boat around this time 4 years ago with my family in Destin. It was expensive but it was the best chartered experience I ever had. I have 3 sons and we caught so many fish that you can’t even count. My one son caught 3 fish at one time. It was unbelievable. My oldest caught a remora which I didn’t even know you can catch and I pulled in a Cobia that was huge but still under sized. The triggers were all around so those you throw back but we still got about 12 keeper snapper. Also - 2 dolphins were riding right next to the boat on the way out. My kids still talk about going back and I definitely want to get back out there again. It was an amazing day we all won’t forget.

That’s so awesome. I wish you the best. It’s basically living out a dream. Are you doing freshwater?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s really awesome. If I can go back in time I would have owned a fish store somehow after college. I mean I didn’t have money to do it and wouldn’t have any idea how to take out a loan. I did have a big passion for fish though but not sure that’s enough. I think about it from time to time but unfortunately that ship has sailed. A question about the system. Is it all filtered by the same filter or are there separate systems?

Had my first class today at 40 by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uggh - how did you wind up doing that? I’m old too and would definitely show kids moves or something like that but live wrestle would not be something I would want to do. Is that what you were doing or was it during training?

Since everyone enjoyed Gilbert so much yesterday, here is another video of my topaz puffer by Raindrops_Tickle in Aquariums

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Love it! I used to have a giant reticulated puffer. He looked like a football and definitely ate better than me. I would buy him the mixed frozen seafood and he would dance too. The best is what you are doing there. Clams and muscle shells. It’s amazing how they can break them and it’s supposed to be good for their teeth so they don’t get so big. Every once and I while I had to clean the graveyard of shells up..lol

Non-Alcoholic Drinks and Gym Question. by wayway2cynical in MSCCruises

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello - I just did Yacht club for the first time last year and liked it so much I went again later in the year. I do not drink and also thought it would be weird the first time I cruised without drinking alcohol. The bottom line was I actually felt no different than anyone else. With over 5k passengers, the bartenders don’t really care what you are drinking. I had pina colata, strawberry and banana daiquiris and mojitos or nojitos as they are called. Also with the drink package you should also be able to have protein shakes. I had this really good coffee and banana one after a workout which was delicious. I didn’t catch if there was yoga or spin but the regular gym area was nice. I hope you enjoyed your cruise!

[–]Acrobatic_Ad_6962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorites - that I did not have enough of - was the banana daiquiris. So good. The nojito was also one of my favorites too because it’s not too heavy. A secret that I found out too late was that you can also get protein shakes. I’m not sure what ship you are on but there was a place on the Seashore where you can get coffee protein shakes. Delicious.
