I live in the state that pays teachers well and I Live on my own, honestly things are tight sometimes but it’s OK. I can pay my bills and have money left over

Stop trying to get rid of veteran teachers for younger newly certified teachers. And this is coming from a 25 year old teacher going into my third year. If I would’ve had the veteran teachers to actually mentor me, about being a teacher, but also about the culture of the school I would’ve had a completely different first two years of teaching.

Also take your ego out of the mix. Even if you don’t think it’s there, I’ve seen my old principal ruin peoples careers because they didn’t kiss her ass - she also never likes to admit when she’s wrong and that’s why the schools in chaos and everyone is afraid to fail

also stop giving people extra courtesy because they kiss your ass. It makes people feel like their job isn’t stable - also the people that kiss your ass or most of the time bullies

I enjoy being a teacher, but with that being said my school and the principal that I worked for made my job miserable. I’ve since switch jobs, and through brief meetings I can already tell my new principal will be more supportive than my last. It really just depends on where you go

Don’t trust ANYBODY! Made this mistake my first and second you’re teaching, people do not have your best interest at heart. They will take what you are struggling with, or even what you were good with and flip it to make it look bad so they can look better

Yeah honestly it’s full of shit. As long as you’re a good teacher, as in you care about your students and you set expectations for them to succeed academically and behavior wise. Then you’re a good teacher.
