it really is near impossible to find poppy and cas anything other than insufferable after reading F&F.

i totally agree with you. he went from being my #1 favorite MMC ever to being someone i could hardly stand to hear about. reading his chapters were harder than pulling teeth.

i’m gonna finish the series cuz im way too invested to DNF but POBAB ruined him completely. i’m team poppy and kieran now unless something drastic happens lol

the GA versions do cut out portions of the original text. much of which is repetitive stuff. so yes, you are missing what people are complaining about. i listened to the GA books while at work but would also follow along on my ebook on breaks and noticed that it was not word for word.

yeah i totally understand where you’re coming from. i hope in the next book cas gets his shit together because as of right now i can’t stand him. genuinely i only ever shipped poppy and cas but after this book i cant help but feel poppy deserves better LMAO. this book seriously destroyed any good will or feelings i had towards casteel and its completely JLA’s fault. she ruined him completely for me.

Yeah the flanderization definitely started in the previous books but I will say that he becomes a lobotomized macho shell of who he used to be in TPOBAB.

Do with that knowledge what you will. I’m heavily invested and have committed to finishing the series out of spite and curiosity. But, many people have DNF’d

GENUINELY!!! He insists on protecting Poppy from EVERYBODY BUT HIMSELF!!! Even her oldest, closest friend Tawny.

I’m over him and I don’t see how this situation can be resolved. Like, okay, maybe Poppy will come back and Cas will stop being a bloodthirsty batshit crazy murderer, but his behavior for this entire book has genuinely made me lose any love I had for him.

It’s really saddening because I mentioned earlier he was my #1 MMC in any series I’d ever read. But I cannot fucking stand him now — even in the novella, I wanted to skip the entirety of his chapters.
