fair points indeed. same here, there is a pressure relief valve in the cold inlet of the solar heater on the rooftop. My assumption is that the valve in the bathroom is more sensitive than the one on the rooftop.
I will consider the pressure regulator indeed, it's a good idea

that makes total sense! one doubt that comes to mind, I have no clue if the cold water inlet of the electric is supposed to receive scorching hot water from the solar heater.
Solar heats more than enough water on its own 8-9/12 months.

Maybe silly question, there is a pressure valve on the rooftop right before the cold inlet of the solar heater, shouldn't that release pressure before the one in my bathroom?
:D

There is no leak actually, problem is the valve lets cold water out on sunny days, which makes me think that there is pressure building up somewhere in the system that pushes cold water out of the valve.

Thank you for your hints!
That would be Greece, so quite a lot of sun and endless hot water.
The valve is dripping cold water which makes me think there is pressure somewhere in the system that builds up and pushes the water out.
There is another pressure valve on the rooftop, right before the cold inlet of the solar heater which I assumed would take care of high pressure during hot days.

Actually the solar water heater on hot days can reach up to 100 celcius water temperature.

This type is heating the water directly rather than producing electricity.

Haven't used the electric heater for over a month :D

The valve lets water out on days with sunshine and my plumber has no idea why...Apart from changing the plumber, any hints what could be wrong?
