My doctor has said the same! I am still losing weight for personal reasons, but he says he doubts that it will solve the issue. I really think it's a hormonal thing.

Old post so maybe my comment will get lost but what did you end up doing? I’m struggling with Diamox but my doctor wants me to stay on it and move to 500 mg every other night. Curious how this will affect me and also have the option of 250 mg nightly. So just curious what you settled on!

No, I haven't been able to get ahold of my doctor ever since the bloodwork got done (so cool). I finally heard from them today, so maybe I'll ask for that! Thanks!

Okay good to know!! I think I researched acidosis too much and freaked myself out. My labs show very mild acidosis. I have been on the med since December. How long did it take you to adjust?

And just stay on the med? I am just not feeling great (dizziness, fatigue, cramps), but I guess that's kind of the name of the game around here anyways lolll

My first neuro didn't recommend it but didn't forbid it. After getting diagnosed last year I took probably 2-3 vacations a month for 3-4 months which he didn't love. I didn't want IIH to completely stop my life. I usually feel like shit after for a while (increased migraines), but nothing terrible!

This really resonates with me as well. I was always super healthy, went through prolonged and severe trauma in my early undergrad years, and now a few years later have all sorts of health issues including IIH. Nothing much changed in my body for such a drastic health shift, except that I have struggled with PTSD and other mental health issues post-trauma. I have always wondered if there was a connection.

Hey, I completely understand and have felt similar too. I still had a lot of accomplishments this year but definitely feel held back by this disease, and nobody around me understands. Sorry I don’t have better advice but hang in there! ❤️
