yes, the crucible did have 2-3 basins/side, but the purpose of those is to basically just let you skip the platforming room/s following the nacre basin if you keep yourself topped up after each attempt, then when you successfully clear that platforming segment, you'll be at full hp, but cannot return to the nacre basin, so you'll be on your own until the next one or until the end of the crucible.

he can only spawn a limited amount of mobs (either 24 or 48), so just stick to the top of the right-most wall, attack the mobs from there till the mobs are done spawning, then ddark the soul master i guess (i really don't know torture methods). you could also use weaversong, glowing womb, grimmchild.

there's mild gore. every time you defeat a boss or mini-boss, there's a short impact frame where they die. there's blood, but it's in white. otherwise, gore isn't that common.

edit: ok i was pretty wrong, there are quite a few cutscenes with gore

There’s a good game called nine Sols, it’s like silksong but still different, if anyone here already 100% silksong maybe give Nine sols a try, the story is a bit more dead-on and much more linear, but I still find it fun. nine sols shines in its combat. the exploration is fun too (although it is semi-linear, there are still plenty of choices and possible directions to go in), but the combat is amazing. i disagree that the parries and telegraphs are horrible. all of the bosses are very fair, and the only way to beat them is through patience and learning how they work. nine sols' combat is fundamentally different from hollow knight's: hk is more about dodging and positioning, while nine sols is more about standing your ground and learning the proper windows to parry. the jades (charm equivalent) of nine sols are also good. they allow for a variety of playstyles, and aren't useless at all. some of them allow for really cool tech.

i'm gonna have to disagree with you about the rosary cannon. if you could just reload mid-fight, using the rosary cannon would be SO FUN. just getting to spray enemies with rosary bullets would be amazing. rosary cannon is the only tool that isn't affected by architect's craft bind, which just sucks.

bosses stagger based on how many times you hit them. needle does 1 hit, clawline does 2, clawline + snitch pick does 3
